I love the fact is has bluetooth and can pair multiple phones to be saved, the sound system like the bass is nice but it seems quiet like I turn it up to 20 and barely hear it qnd only goes up to 45 but you can feel the bass, the car handles extremely well I got it for the All wheel drive which can be used in the winter months if needed, the seat warmers is a nice touch as well, its low to the ground but not stupid low, the power this thing has is awesome it can get up and go if needed, it is kinda loud in the cab because of it but not unbearable I would definetely recommend this car to anyone looking for a good gas saver and stylish.Jun 06, 2022

I bought the car brand new with only 12KM's on it and have over 800 now. I bought the 5 speed as i did not want the CVT. The car has adequate power and the handling is outstanding. Styling is better than any other car in the price range and is very comfortable even for me (6'5). The warranty is better than what other car manufacturers offer as well. Overall i am very satisfied with the Lancer and will continue to drive it.May 30, 2013

I bought the GTS brand new, one of only 2 on the lot at the time. Mine had the Rockford Fosgate sound system which was awesome. I drove it until May 2012, until, unfortunately it was totaled in an accident. A young man turned left in front of me at an intersection in a 90's model Jeep Cherokee. The entire front end was demolished and pieces of the engine were scattered all over the road, however, my daughter and I, who was in the front seat, walked away with only bruises. The seat belts locked so quickly that our faces never came near the airbags. There is a airbag for the driver knees as well, and I really think it saved me from getting a broken leg. The car was great fun to drive and handled great, however I wish it did have a little more power. The stereo system was awesome and handled great, and the navigation system was good too. The only thing that I needed to have done was a new catalytic converter, which was going in and out at about 130k. I've had Mitsubishi's before and the exhaust was usually the thing I had problems with (frequent replacement of oxygen sensors). I got great gas mileage, and overall I would recommend this car for anyone to drive.Dec 16, 2012

The handling on this car is by far the best of any I have driven, including mustangs and mazdas. The Rockford/Fosgate sound system is impressive for a factory system. It could use another 30 hp, but it has enough power for normal driving. Apr 13, 2012

I really had fun driving this car. Does good on gas, has some get up and go power. Hasn't really cost much to own. Looks good inside and out. The CVT is really nice just push the gas and go.Apr 06, 2011

This is a second review of my car. I have owned the car since 7/5/08 and have put in some time really getting to know my car.
In the first 2 years, for the most part I have only driven the car every weekday from my home to class which is 56.2 miles round trip and some days make the trip twice. Even though I have been putting my vehicle through all of this work, it has held up quite nicely and still feels like the first day I got it. As I've started to make some longer trips(NJ to Massachusetts or NJ to DC), I've felt some problems with some things about the car which I will mention later on in the review. Overall the car is a great car.
It's acceleration depends really on the driver and how they shift. When I do get a little aggressive, the car doesn't really get a good amount of power till past 3000 rpm in every gear but I'm still able to get good speed if I shift well. Braking is very good and the brake pads are still holding up for me quite well. The car handles quite nicely. Around tight turns I feel like I have the control of a much smaller/shorter vehicle sometimes and even when turning at higher speeds the car seems to handle fine.
The car's build is overall good. There are rattles from the doors either because of the windows or from the plastic covers over the speakers. The window rattles don't do any damage to the vehicle or window itself but once it did come off of the tracks. Warranty covered this for me.
After almost 2 and half years, I still love the look of the car. The aggressive shark style front of the car looks nice even for the ES compared to the GTS, Ralliart, or Evo. And it still has a professional look to the car even though it still has an aggressive look to the entire car. The interior looks nice overall. Everything is neatly arranged and has a clean look. My only complaints are that the arm rest is slightly too short and the seats get somewhat uncomfortable like the lack of lumbar support and the edge of the seat starts to dig into the back of your legs after sitting for an extended period.
Gas mileage is ok. Again it really depends on the driver. If you drive aggressively, most likely you will see average MPG under 22/30. On my more conservative drives, I have been able to get 26/41. I've never had to replace any parts yet.
Driving the car is a good experience. It reacts well to roads, handles nicely, fun for spirited driving and rewarding for conservative driving, and only money I've HAD to put into the car is just for oil changes. The rattles get slightly annoying but doesn't affect my experience a lot.Apr 06, 2011

Have a good all-around performance, especially in handling. Good Engine and MIVEC system. Build quality is really good exept for some materials (Paint is quite cheap, interior plastic could be better)
The design of the car is just simply awesome, one of the best looking car on the market.
The reliability on this car is just amazing. Is it fun to drive? YES!! This car loves curbs! The chassis is incredebly stiff for a car of this class and the safety feature on it wort it.Sep 11, 2010

I owned a 2003 lancer ES and was satisfied with that car. I had to replace it though, trans. went out. So i test drove the DE version of the new one and loved it. I bought the 5 speed manual. I wanted a car that i could mod. so i bought the bone stock. No a/c or anything. The only thing i have is the Keyless Entry. It has way more power than the older lancer (120bhp). The new lancers with the 2.0 engines have 152bhp. Handling is great for an economy class car, and it looks great, the sound system is the best for it's class i would say (MP3 ready radio, tells you the name of the songs your listening to) Great gas mileage (EPA messed up on it),I get 26.4 city 37.2 hwy. (If you get manual and drive it the right way it will get great gas mileage). Just a warning if you drive this car hard it will get awful gas mileage, I got 9.7 city. Overall great improvement from older model. MUST BUY.
P.S. car looks cool, head turner. I always get complemented.May 22, 2010

real modern day. the cost to keep it on
the road is cheep a tank of gas can last
me a month if i stay in town. one time
went a week on empty lol. so over all i
know it was the best car for me. Jan 08, 2010

Exterior has smooth lines and very aggressive
styling making the car look like it packs a larger
punch than it really does. Interior is comfortable
and very well put together with some nice "luxury"
features like leather seats. It also feels like a very
well-built car. No major problems thus far, and for
a somewhat sporty sedan it still manages adequate
fuel economy even when driven aggressively. Only
complaint would be that the car looks too similar to
the true sportscars Mitsubishi offers like the Ralliart
or Evo yet only offers a small performance
advantage over lower trim lancers like the GT or ES.
However this problem can easily be solved with
some aftermarket tuning. Overall i would
recommend this car to anyone, it's been great so
far and feel it will continue to be a lot of fun for
many years to come.Jun 14, 2009

A great vehicle, fun to ride has a smooth rally brake and suspension. Not as good as the RalliArt or Evo but still nice. Leather, sunroof and Rockford Fosgate speakers with 10 inch sub in trunk make the car worth while. Has a 170HP which travels along nicely and is great for the Northwestern Ontario hills. The acceleration of the car is great when you step on the pedal it goes, as for the appearance its very simple on the interior controls positioned nicely and the dash is easy to navigate for the driver. Outside the aggressive front gives it a sportier look than previous Lancer's. On the Cost of ownership you can't go wrong the gas milage is pretty good being a 28 city and 38 highway, the car is a fun car to drive and handles well in the corners and traverses snow well with a good set of 16 inch Toyo Winter Tires. Maintenance is limited to oil changes and minor tune ups the warranty is great 10 yr/160,000km powertrain, 5 yr/unlimited road side assistance, 5 yr/100,000 interior/exterior coverage. Its a well built car, there are some minor issues with the glove box though, it doesn't sound sturdy enough as it does rattle slightly, but i'm not sure if its due to the contense inside.Dec 15, 2008

Beautyfull car its performance is outstanding in every way keeping in mind the kind of car it is because the only "but" i have is that its acceleration from 0 is a little too "soft" i would like it more agressive but after a few thousands of rpm it is just like an earth to earth misil, the barkes are in the zone, not too firm not too soft, the handling its worth of mention, although a little sensitive.
Its appearance is dynamic and fresh I like A LOT, its japanese made exellent quality.Nov 04, 2008

This has been a great little car. Gas mileage could be better for it's size but other than that no complaints. Lot's of tech gadgets to keep a driver entertained and overall a very nice ride and decent performance out of a small sedan. The CVT is a little ackward getting used to no shift points at first but feels very solid and has enough zip to satisfy. It's not going to win any races but that is not why you buy a Lancer unless you step up to the EVO. Would recommend the car to anyone.Oct 23, 2008

My 2009 mitsu lancer GTS is wonderful, it accelerates well, handles like a dream, has massive four wheel disc brakes, has an awesome rockford-fosgate premium sound system. I also like the exterior of the car, it looks badass. It is a blast to drive, definitely one of the funnest cars i've ever drivenSep 15, 2008

Just bought the car in June and loving it.
Performance: with an out put of the 2.0, 4 cylinder
naturally aspired engine, it gives an out put of 162
HP. Many drivers complain that the car doesn't
have enough power. I disagree! With the 162 HP
engine, it feels like have the power to over take
many cars with it. It's all comes down to driving
technique and using the standard transmission.
However, the car sometimes does feel a bit over
weight with 3000 lbs. It can stand to use a little
diet. In terms of braking and handling, the Lancer
is designed for rally. It can do some of the things
most cars can never do. It's an extremely agile car
and super fun to drive.
Interior: from the inside, the Lancer is one of the
ugliest cars ever made. The interior is all gray and
black and lacking colour. The gage lights are red.
The inside feels cold and almost too robotic. The
bucket seats have no back support adjustment.
However, the car does come with bluetooth
connection to phone, Rockford Fosgate sound
system with a 10 inch Sub built-in into the trunk,
and radio control on the steering wheel.
Exterior: Mitsubishi has a long history of worst
styling in their cars. All of their previous
generations of Lancers horribly ugly. For years,
Mitsubishi had committed the worst crime in body
styling. However, the new Lancer won the hearts of
many young sport car enthusiasts with it's
aggressive new look. It's by far the most beautiful
car on the outside.
Gas milage: The 2.0 naturally aspired aluminum
block engine gives an average of 7.8L-8.6L/100KM.
A full tank can give you close to 700KM.
Safety: the Mitsubishi Lancer is considered the
safest car in its class. The RISE system, which is
first introduced in 96, gives the Lancer the most
rigid body in its class. It has 8 air bags. The driver
and the front passenger even have their own knee
air bag.
Other worth mentions: the new Lancer is absolutely
one of the best car that ever come out of Japan. It's
no surprised we see Lancer everywhere on the road
and on the street. Lancer is looking to redeem it's
history of despicable reputation. They've done a
great job with the Lancer. For a compact car, it was
very practical. It has a huge trunk. It was fun to
drive. It was considered inexpensive. It's the safest
in its class. It was rally inspired and great on gas.
The only draw back is it's CVT transmission. It's an
absolute mess. Safe the 1000 dollar and stick with
the stick shift.

Solid performance although it is missing some passing power as well as acceleration. Plan to do some upgrades to improve that. Braking is average, not spectacular but not bad. Handling is actually quite good on this car although it is still not at a spectacular level. If they had added a little low end power it would be perfect.
Paint is cheap though, chips and scratches come easily, defiantly worth purchasing the 3M plastic for the hood...as well as mud flaps for front and rear tires. Noticed that it does ride quite loud, although there was a option to coat the under carriage of the vehicle with something to remove that...it is not too noticeable.
Its not too hard on gas, finding around 28mpg city and 36mpg highway...although i do tend to exceed the speed limits...I'm sure it is capable of a lot better, I feel that the American EPA was grossly underestimating the mileage of this car.
Very cool looking car and a lot of fun to drive, its cool without being too flashy and just overall a fun drive.Aug 11, 2008

Performance
- Great handling, lots of fun on twisty roads. Only improvement needed is more power, the Ralliart edition is perfect for me.
Build Quality
- Decent, no problem so far.
Appearance
- Very aggressive, love the nose of the car, the shark look is AWESOME. I can do without the wing in the back, but it looks good anyway. Very sporty, I'm totally loving the look, it was one of the main reason I bought it over Mazda3.
Cost of Ownership
- Gas mileage is okay for the size; it's a heavy car so use more gas when doing "Rally Style" driving. Maintenance so far is simply, nothing major yet.
Fun Factor
- I love the car, it is ALOT of fun to drive! If I can put a turbo-charger and boost the power to the 250HP range, I might just create a little monster.Jul 10, 2008

Best car by far. Faster than my Impreza, better on fuel than any car I have ever driven - paddle shift gear box kitted out with VRX trim and no-key entry or start. It rocks.Jan 28, 2008

Interior is agressive and confortable, well designed.
Exterior is agressive too with a shark look front.
Handling is very impressive on the car, stock with 18" and with sport suspensions, it will surprise a lot of you.
This car is cool even if the engine is a litlle weak compared to the rest of the car.Jan 02, 2008
