Windshield sealant was gone. There was a missing back seat. Seats were torn carpet was stained. The mirrors were duct taped on. It was basically a piece of crap I wouldnt have paid $500 for itJul 02, 2022

I bought it! Nice driving van, I suggest getting one for any person that has need to buy a car or van, consider the Toyota Sienna. This is a new car for me...as I have 3-1991 through 1993 GM Cadillac & Oldsmobile cars not running (and for sale). This Sienna feels just as smooth as a Cadillac! Buy one. Happy New Year Everyone! ;)Jan 04, 2022

I inherited this van from my parents when my father died. It has been reliable, hard working, and has plenty of room and power for my family. I wish the features were more sturdy, but I've loved this van. Lasts forever!Nov 17, 2014

We've been driving the Sienna for about six years. Extremely reliable and useful. No complaints. Would recommend. This thing can hold seven people or also have all the seats removed and hold huge pieces of furniture. Since it's the 2002 model, the seats don't fold into the floor. I removed them today and it really hurts. The problem is that you have to pull them out toward the rear bumper. And my knee caps align with the bumper, and it hurts my knee caps. Is that enough words car guru?Jun 24, 2014

If you are looking for a family van that is reliable , safe, and inexpensive to maintain then this is the van for you. It has room for 7 passenger with all the comforts they will need for a long trip. At 25 miles to a gallon, it gets good mileage too.Nov 30, 2013

Our Sienna is by far the best car I have ever owned. It is amazing. 190K miles, and still runs like new. We tow our 3500lb ski boat with it. We tow our camper with it. I commute daily in it. Many road trips to FL. I can't say enough about what a joy it has been to own this car. We've never had any trouble with. I just change the oil and keep on driving. I would highly recommend one. Our next car will be a Sienna. I'll probably opt for the AWD on the next one.Nov 27, 2013

This is an amazing road trip car. Four people, luggage and paraphernalia for 2 weeks on the road is a breeze! Cross Country at 80+ mph, we are still getting 30+ mpg with 145,000 miles on her. On another trip, loaded to the gills, pulling a trailer loaded to the gills, she got better MPG at 80 MPH, than at 60.May 01, 2013

We have owned the Sienna for 13 year. It has been a great family car. We have taken this to Colorado and numerous trips to Florida. There is plenty of power going through the mountains. The van has held up well and we have had to spend very little on maintenance over the years. Apr 01, 2013

I hate it, wife loves it. She has dented every corner and is working on the sides. I think the engine has to be pulled to change the back plugs. It has always felt like a cheap ride but it cost alot.Oct 17, 2012

I bought this van used with over 100K miles. While the interior showed the ravages of spilled soda and a Schnauzer, the mechanicals were fine. Exterior has held up under the tropical sun without fade. Highway mpg is 22 to 25 ( which I have tracked for 6 years) and 19 to 21 around town.
The previous owners had a history report and they explained an A/C problem that the dealership never successfully addressed. I used BRAKE CLEANER to saturate the A/C compressor clutch surfaces (cost $2.18) and it has performed without exception for years.Aug 24, 2012

This van has served us well while raising four children. Very comfortable on trips and room for all the luggage and toys that we need take. Three of four kids are on their own so we really do not need the size of the Sienna and want to downsize at this point.Aug 19, 2012

I loved this van. Hands down one of the best you can get. We've taken this van on many family trips and has never given us any problems. Lots of space and comfort. This drives just like a Camry- smooth.Nov 24, 2011

Smooth comfortable ride. Kids love the built-in TV. Second and third row seats come all the way out so the storage/hauling is as good as a truck. I would buy another one just just it.
Kelly Blue Book valued at $6400 -so great deal.Nov 23, 2011

Owned this car from 110k to 190k and has to be the most reliable vehicle I have ever had.
Had a 94 Camry before and thought that was good, but the Sienna was even better all the way around. Great design.Aug 09, 2011

This is the longest I've ever owned a car. I've put almost 100,000 miles on it and never had a single maintenance issue. Lots of room, great features - was quite luxurious (for a mini-van) when I first bought it. Still love it!May 21, 2011

Its a great car for trips but i wouldnt want to drive it more often.

but it has never had any problems in its 200,000+ miles.
it gets almost 30 mpg still on long roadtrips May 12, 2011

Nearly 300k kms and still running very strong. Removable seats and a factory installed tow-package make this a great fully-enclosed truck. So far, it has only needed an alternator, two inner tie-rods and regular maintenance in two years of ownership.Oct 31, 2010

It was not the best car. Okay Gas Mileage. fit tons of people, but was not as
reliable as it should be. Toyota has recently recalled over 9.5 Million cars...this
being one of them. Go Figure! Lol. Ha! Wow!Jul 24, 2010

The vehicle itself is a pretty good van. It has four relatively new tires, less than 15K miles per year, a new transmission and non-squealing brakes. What more could a girl ask for? ( I know. A bright red Maserati...)
The problem is when a woman (especially a blonde woman) walks into a shop for a simple problem. "My air conditioning isn't working. I need some freon," sez I. "It's your lucky day," replies the sleezy shop owner. We'll check the problem out for free!" Liking the word FREE, I tell them to go ahead. Of course the results of the FREE check are that I need $600 worth of air-conditioning work. "I just want FREON today because it's 115 degerees outside and I do not HAVE $600." Big argument. "Gimme the damn freon ...."
I only got the freon after agreeing to come back two days later to do the "rest of the work." "This will only hold you for a few days," said Mr. Sleeze.
That was a year ago and the air still blows cold. It's left me wondering about the other FOUR THOUSAND that same shop stuck me for on "free" engine analysis.

Not bad for a minivan. Good reliability and low maintenance cost. Good gas mileage. Looks okay for a family wagon. Handles well and is safe for kids. If I had to buy it again I would definitely buy one for sure.Apr 07, 2010

It is a fairly smooth drive. The transmission has already been replaced once. We find that the door handles are brittle and brake easily. We are having to replace several. The gas mileage is decent overall. Freeway mileage is amazing! It's not really fun to drive, but it does feel safe and reliable. It is nice to look at, especially after it has just been washed. Defiantly a great family vehicle.Jan 09, 2010

Great car if you have a flock of kids.Pretty worthless for anything else.Nice acceleration for a socker mom car.Ok on gas plus its a Toyota so it will last a while.Wish i could say that about the paint and the power windows.Nov 10, 2009

Let's get it out of the way...its a mini-van. That said, one of the most powerful engines available in van. This thing will outpace a lot of other cars on the road. Engine is supposed to last for 200k miles at least. Shame the rest of the car doesn't want to. Pieces of the trim and electrical functions like to fall off...a lot.Oct 13, 2009

I love that it has enough room for our big family. and also we just love toyota for it's great reputation.
It handles great tight steering. Only needed regular maintence. We also love the 4 captin chairs. The second sliding door is great no fighting over who gets the window seat either there are plenty to go around. The only problem is the rear window has broken twice already and it's $400. because of the privacy glass.
I would def recommend this kind of van for anyone with a growing family. The newer ones the rear windows go down!!!! Wish mine did that LOLJan 23, 2009

I loved my car 10 years ago. It is great for a family. My kids are all grown and I would now like something smaller.A Mustang comes to mind! I would recommend this car for a growing famiy. It has loads of room and is a long lasting vehicle. Time for someone just starting a family to get this type of car.Oct 10, 2008

I'm not a fan of driving a mini van, but it really is an awesome family car. It's also built tough! We were rear ended by a Jeep CJ that was travelling 40MPH and we couldn't see any visible damage on our car. Amazingly built and has never left me standed!Jul 22, 2008

What would you ask of a family car?
Comfort - It's got it, especially at the XLE Trim. Everything you would want for your kids and yourself. It's big and roomy. Good road trip car.
Reliability - The soccer mom has no time think about this or that for the car. You just want it to run. There are no problems with this car. Just take it to a good place to have everything checked up. It's been running 150k plus miles. No problems except for a dead battery or twice.
Safety - 5 star crash safety rating says it all.
and the wild card
Performance - Hey it's not bad for a car like this. the V6 engine definitely pulls if you want it to. There is very little response coming through to the steering wheel. While it is easy to turn, it also feels like jelly and I can't get any feeling from the wheels on the car. But you won't notice that if you drive it enough. The brakes are excellent though. Unfortunately, this year doesn't offer the AWD option. You may consider getting the later years because the AWD option gives you many advantages.Jan 15, 2008

We bought it new in 2000 when the kids were 10, 8 and 4. It has served us very well for the past 7 years. It now has 160,000 miles and it is the most reliable vehicle my wife or I have ever had. The only work has been brakes, tires, timing belt and tune-ups. We got the XLE which has the leather, captain chairs, etc. We've used it for many long trips and it is fine. Mar 07, 2007
