Ive owned two 2005 Audi S4 Cabriolets and loved them both. This 2008 is the same car but with an Aux port The normally aspirated 40 valve 4.2 L V8 sounds wonderful and has lots of torque. Yes it throws you back against the seat under acceleration. It also throws you against the shoulder belt under braking from high speed. A very fun car to drive in the sun.
In Winter the only thing that slows this car down is deep snow. This S4 is lower to the ground than an A4 and the front air dam makes a terrible snow plow. It was meant for air, not frozen water. But parked on ice in six inches of snow, just buckle up and step on the gas as much as you want. The car just slowly creeps away slowly picking up speed with no noticeable wheel spin. Aug 31, 2022

Love the style and performance, unbelievable all-weather capability (and I've driven through white-out blizzards over the Rocky Mountains). Easy to drive fast, hard to want to drive slow.
Worst gas mileage imaginable. Maintenance costs are like routine route canals.
Will still miss the big V8's when they're all gone. I'm keeping mine as a hobby car as the world moves to sport hybrids and we all putter around quietly - - before the self-driving cars come and we're all reduced to passengers. Dec 17, 2014

Have owned this car for over 2 years - it has done everything we have asked and more - ski trips - hi speed blasts into the city - everyday commuter - pass anyone you want to on the highway - stuck to the road on the highway and back roads - goes through snow like a champ - one of the most fun cars I have driven to date - great value for the money - blown away by the acceleration an overall performance - would definitely buy another one - Nov 12, 2014

This is one of the best sedans I've even been in. It's fast and solid. The car handles and feels built like no detail was overlooked. It is a bit sluggish to accelerate at times; however, it's strong through the gears. This car has made me a HUGE Audi fan now.Oct 20, 2014

This has been my favorite car. It's been pretty bulletproof during my ownership of it. It's fast but still relatively buttoned down. I would buy another Audi in a heartbeat. In fact, I will likely just buy another, slightly larger Audi as my next car. Mar 20, 2014

I sold this car and wish I hadn't. I have missed it since the day it left. The power, the handling, the comfort, the sound. It was a remarkable car and I'd give anything to have it back! I believe the used market is insane on them, people want far too much. It is impossible to get a good deal on one, but worth every penny you have to spend.Oct 02, 2013

The S4 for 2007 is a great car, the ride and handling were superb. And the V8 motor had the growl that made you want to drive this car more and more. I would seriously recommend this ride to anyone that likes spirited driving in your everyday driving. Hope this was helpful to you.Oct 11, 2012

Great car to drive. Handles awesome, very comfortable. Suprisingly good on gas mileage for a 4.2l v8 engine (20-23mpg). AWD is great in winter and on wet rainy days. Cars interior is very clean after the 7 years of use, outside has no dents or scratches. Sep 12, 2012

Audi S4 proves that luxury and performance can live together in one well-balanced package. small block V8 makes amazing growl noise, sharp handling and attractive interior. rear seats are little bit tight but front recaro bucket seats are hugging you in every corner and give you confidence entering the corner in high speed. Quattro all wheel drive ensures you have all time grip even in snow condition.Nov 05, 2011

I like almost everything about the S4, but the upkeep can be expensive at times! I would recommend this car to anyone wanting a little extra power, great handling, superior service, but can't give up the extra row of seats! Feb 03, 2011

Had the car several months now which superceded my Porsche 911 (04 shape)
The novelty still hasnt worn off, love the ride quality and trim, both of which are much better than the 911... thrill factor is there but for sure the 911 would walk away with the trophy.Nov 22, 2010

The Audi has been amazing. I love having a V8, the torque is just
breathtaking. The interior is awesome, suede seats along with navigation
there isn't much more I could ask for in a vehicle. I would recommend
this car to just about anyone.Sep 30, 2010

The s4 is a great performance sedan. With seating for five and folding rear seats she is practical too! Well ... as practical as a 340hp V8 sedan can be. She is a little expensive to maintain though. None the less, she is incredibly fun on her good days. Jun 01, 2010

The B6 Audi S4 Cabriolet is without a doubt the greatest convertible car I have
ever had the pleasure of driving...and owning. With 340 horses under the
hood, this car is pretty quick and extremely fun to drive. It handles just as well
as the sedan version of the B6 S4 as well, and the braking is exceptional. What
sets this convertible from the rest is the level of build quality employed in it,
which is one of Audi's motifs. The tops goes up and down in about 24 seconds;
there is never any wind noise or rattling when the top is up. The solid interior is
quiet, with the roar of the engine easily audible. Finally, this car is sexy on the
inside and outside; the polished aluminum really makes the car stand out. In
short, this car is a blast to own and drive.Oct 21, 2009

Erm 0 - 60 in 5.9 secs and top end of 155 sums it up although haven't managed to get past 145 yet (only joking officer).
Usual audi quality, quality build, quality interior, quality feel and drive.
18 MPG but with 4.2 V8 under the bonnet who cares.
This car rocks, test drive one you wont go back.
Buy one and tell the wife its ' a sporty family car'.Aug 06, 2009

Add a MTM compressor, racing cats, a StaSiS torsen, bilstein coilovers and 20" rims and you're flying. Without comparisson the best car i've ever owned and a tough one to replace, why I'm counting on keeping it for a few years more.Jun 30, 2009

A really impressive effort by Audi that seems to
have BMW Motorsports on its toes now. And
competition is a good thing for both brands. The
S4 is incredibly solid, even the cabriolet, and begs
to be thrown into the turns where its low profile
rubber and quattro hold the road like its on rails.
The engine boasts an impressive 340 hp, with 300
lb-ft of torque. This car is purposed detuned for
the U.S. market, so for the performance minded
some simple upgrades can easily up these numbers
by 10-20 percent. The styling of the S4 can't
compete with the new S5 and isn't aggressive
enough to draw attention the way an M car does,
but sometimes that's a blessing. The gas mileage
was downright embarrassing until I dropped a K&N
filter in and now get 22-23 mpg on the highway.
That was the best $60 I spent on it. This car is
incredibly fun to drive year round, in all conditions,
and has turned me into a huge Audi fan after
swearing off the brand after owning a 5000S years
ago.

V8 sounds so good never get tired of listening to it. In gear acceleration is fantastic and very addictive. There are no rattles or squeaks and everything works the same now as it did when it was new. Even though it's a big car with a big, heavy engine stashed up front, the handling is very good. Add four wheel drive and when it's wet the re's very little else that comes close. If I had to state a negative it would have to be the fuel economy which I struggle to keep above 20mpg on average. But then that's the governments blody fault, not my S4.
Next stop...RS4, so must brush up on my bank-robbing skills.Oct 18, 2008

With gas prices rising! V8 power ins't the best in Mpg if you know what I mean!
Perfomance: 0-60 could be better but for its time and technology it does well (hint: 09 V6 turbo S4)
Handling: Its handling is impeccable, it drives like it is on rails! you hardly feel the snow or rain.
Apearance: exterior is simple yet stylish, interior is nice with blue alacantra suede inserts.
Gas: is a bummer around town otherwise long hauls are average for V8Jul 09, 2008

It has great speed and agility. 0-60 time around 5.2. And with 4 wheel drive you'll almost never burn out and it works well in the snow. It's dark blue with white leather interior. I love the Recaro seats. It only has 5500 miles on it. Only thing I don't like very much about it is the gas mileage, but it is a blast to drive.Jul 08, 2008

Amazing car. Great for long distance touring and a fun sprint up your favorite windy roads.
Confidence inspiring Quattro AWD usually gave slight understeer, but is typical
of Audi and most AWD systems. When quattro is paired up with the right tires
this thing will go through snow better than most trucks and/or SUVs (trust me, I know. I live where it snows!)Feb 11, 2008
