2021 Mazda CX-9 Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Expert review
Though flawed, the 2021 Mazda CX-9 delivers a compelling blend of style, performance, technology, and safety in a premium package.
Translated, the Japanese concept of jinba ittai refers to a horse and rider as one. Mazda has adopted it as a guiding philosophy for all of its products, and among them, the 2021 CX-9 midsize SUV possesses the least of it. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a compelling choice in its segment, and changes for the 2021.5 model year make the CX-9 better than ever.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2021 Mazda CX-9 are highly satisfied with its driving experience and comfort. Many reviewers praised its smooth handling, reliability, and luxurious interior, making it stand out among other SUVs. However, some noted it could benefit from a bit more power and additional cargo space, especially when the third-row seats are in use."
Great value!! Drives amazing and has all the safety features you want!
January 11, 2023We absolutely love the cx-9, we looked at the pathfinder, sorento, pilot and cx-9. We did not like the drive of the pathfinder, the lack of safety features & keyless start in the sorento (especially with how easy kia has been to break into) the pilot is great but to get all the features we want just out of budget. The cx-9 provides the luxury feel and drive, and allows you to have all of the safety features. We love it
March 15, 2023This vehicle has all the features that anybody can ask for. Very low gas consumption and great style.

January 5, 2023German luxury like ride and interior without the German car repairs. Solid ride, feels great driving looks beautiful and fun to drive. Biggest downside is interior space.
November 26, 2021It’s a great driving experience no doubt about it however it’ll better if it had a more powerful engine and maybe a little better space in the back with the 3rd row up. Another thing would be more vehicle information for example real time tire pressure and also wireless Apple car part and Android auto for convenience. Now if you don’t mind those things it’s a grate diver’s car!
August 1, 2023The biggest bang for your buck!! Great 2.5 Turbo engine and six speed auto trans, built well, really solid and very comfortable ride. Lots of room and easy access with second row captains chairs. The interior is the nicest compared to Highlander and Pilot!
October 26, 2021Great value ! Reliable, luxurious and spacious! The drive is solid !
April 18, 2023Well equipped. Roomier Than CX-5 but not as ponderous as Telluride. Good value without the obscene markups found on other cars.
April 17, 2022Proven model. Very reliable, comfortable, safe;I own another one from 2012
August 29, 2021Sport type handling cornering is smooth and very responsive.
