April 22, 2023The Z4 30i is good value. The M40i is a bit rich. 6 cyl is powerful by the 4 is very peppy. Also 4 is better for everyday driving. The car has great handling and comfort. Used are over priced at the moment. Its a summer car. Wait for 2023.
July 15, 2022Disclaimer: I have only test-drove this car for 40 minutes or so. I was looking for the next car for *me* after the lease of my BMW i3 ended (before that I also had other BMWs, and I do drive a BMW motorcycle). I had gotten into electrical cars around 17 with the lease of the i3. I really loved this car. Bought a Tesla Model X in 19 for the family. So Im used to the agility of an electrical vehicle. I was looking for a small fancy car only for me. The car I tested was an Z4 M40i. I dont think it can compete in agility to a Tesla Model 3 (or S or X). Or (in a certain sense) even the i3. Perhaps it can in theory, but than in you need to let it howl like a dog. This was an important insight to me. Apart of the missing agility an electric car has, this looked like a good car, with decent user interface and features.
