I love the Appearance - my Suzuki is almost 5 years old and when clean the paint still glitters like brand new!
The performance is great: acceleration, handling and brakes awesome, I had some minor problems with things breaking down on me but the service staff were excellent.
Gas mileage is good - and it is more than fun to drive, for me and my family!Apr 04, 2012

Performance: Accelration good but needs some encouragement to wake up the
engine, brakes are good but do not appreciate a heavy foot, handling is the
best part about the car.
Build Quality is typically maruti.. Very Good
Appreance is very appealing but getting very familier.
Cost of ownership is on the higher side so please keep away from stunt driving
and be careful.
Fun Factor: 5/5Nov 18, 2011

Low cost of ownership and fun to drive in the city traffic. Hope the poor braking issue is sorted out by adding ABS in the 2011 facelift. Spacious interiors, good value for money and the great Fiat designed CRDi engine has made this car a big hit.Jun 01, 2011

Great Car to ride around in the city, zippy and good pick up.
Downside is its too congested at the back, people above 5'10 would be cramped at
the back. for a couple its awesome, i think. All in all a good car serves wellOct 27, 2010

Exciting styling, smart interiors, good dynamics & decent perfomance. Its an attractive upgrade for small car owners. Clever pricing makes it fantastic value for money.
Talking about the peromance of the car, its satisfactory.
Build quality iz gud.
The ride gives an economy of 11.5/16.2kpl with the petrol version.
Overall, the car's fun to drive, must go for it... :)Aug 22, 2010

Performance is really good, but need more punch in the acceleration in higher gears, say 3rd
Build quality is good, but experience few issues rather too freq. with the dual horns.. often one wouldn't work due to constant drivin thru bumpy roads.
The best part of owning this beast is the cost of ownershipp and ASS(After sales service) which is awesome of the lot!!! The fun factor is owning it ofcourse, a pleasure to drive in all seasons......Aug 18, 2010

Good Pick-up , Comfort drive with AC or Without AC on Long
Steep roads , Soft Suspension - Great Drive for City and
Outskirts. Best Turning Radius with soft Gear Shift.
The engine is more responsive after 3rd service, Stock wheels
need to be changed to support & enhance the Engine

The Turbo Boost in the car while Pick Up is the BEST part !!
Its Extremely fast and Extremely Fuel Efficient !!
Maintenance aint that high at all.. Infact its cheaper to
drive this car than a petrol variant !!
The car is EXTREME fun to drive.. Handles pretty good..
Stock Tyres are very thin compared to the power the car
has.. It usually Skids while ure on a Higher RPM on a Pick
Up !! Comfi seats and descent interiors makes it a total loot
for the price..Nov 20, 2009

Performance: Acceleration is one of the best in class, light
body and firm handling make it a delight. ABS and EBD in a
car this cheap comes as a surprise and helps a lot too.
Build quality is better than previous marutis, though a lot
more needs to be done. Apperance is begining to feel old,
inside too black. With hard driving i get around 9km/l, no
hassles on maintenance as of now. FUN OH YES!!Oct 01, 2009

Great Car!!! But too small for being a family car. The name Suzuki Swift Sport is Small but Superb, Stylish, Sporty, and Smart looking. Power of this car is an undeniable factor for people to get it, great handling as well for its size.Sep 15, 2009

Nice cheap and great to drive. It is one car that does not cost much but at the same time, it gives a decent performance to it. Also, for the money you are paying, you are getting your moneys worthJul 13, 2009

Mine is an 2008 Suzuki swift. Great car. Design is awesome and the interior quality is very good. Has steering audio controls. Indash, time, temp, kilometer/liter readings. semi sports seats. good leg space. VVT 1500cc good acceleration. Best car for the price. Amazing handling. 11-13km/liter in city and upto 16 on long trips. Only bad thing is its has little ground clearnece (approx10cm) so not good for ragged roads..Jul 06, 2009

The car is one of the best when it comes to handling. It keeps the road at even a 150+kmph
The turbo boost is the best part of the car and is a surprisingly responsive oil burner!Jun 23, 2009

First and foremost, the near square tyre footprint of the
car makes it an absolute delight to drive, and makes up for
the slight vagueness of the steering wheel. Performance is
top notch from a tried and tested engine. This only
irritation is the build quality, which ends up in a lot of
squeeks and rattles... overall, a fun to drive and own car

Performance: Very good for a small city-car.
Build quality: Durable and solid..so far.
Appearance: Love it inside out!
Cost of ownership: Seeing that fuel prices are quite high, a small city car is the best choice..a swift to be specific (:
Fun factor: Its like the small guy who always defended his friend from the bully. Small, aggressive and solid.
Recommend it!Feb 03, 2009

This review concerns the UK Suzuki Swift Sport.
Great small car, still has smallish price (here in UK) unlike certain others *cough*mini*cough*. Comes with lots of special bits too, like keyless entry and start, climate control, twin exhaust, 17" alloys with goodyear eagle F1 tyres as standard! It's all good :)
I think it looks good, but obviously it is no low-slung coupe.
Acceleration is more than adequate for overtaking, brakes are good, but where this car really shines is in the twisty bits. It handles brilliantly, with real grin factor. This is not a motorway cruiser, as it really needs a 6th gear for that, but for the back roads it is superb.
It has the odd rattle now and again, but nothing to write home about, and it has not required any repairs.
Fairly low running costs, I get 37mpg (UK) on the on-board display, and servicing isn't too dear.
If your requirements for a car are: fun, small, cheap, in that order, then this car is among the best you could try.Sep 16, 2008

2008 1.6 Swift Sport is NOT an ORDINARY SWIFT! 125 hp vs 92 hp on the 1500cc.
When pushing hard on corners its very confident with its sport suspension and Recaro racing seats(standard).
Very good city mpg's, wish for a track to really push it!
I just LOVE my SWIFT SPORT!Aug 30, 2008

great fun to drive, an absoloute pleasure on the twistier roads. could do with a little more outright power. the cars started to develop a few rattles, however it feels mechanically solid. its done just over 19000 miles now and hasnt used a drop of oil, or anything for that matter it just goes, and goes well! oh and it looks just as cute as ever. i have never owned a car with such a cheeky character that just begs to be driven. if i could buy another car right now it would be another swift sport.Aug 27, 2008

This is my daily car that was purchased new last year and was a economical and reliable purchase.
So far it has been a perfect car with 6.8lt per 100km, $150 services every 15,000km and only $650 full comp insurance!
I test drove a lot of cars in this price bracket and it came with the best options and looks in my opinion.
Electric windows and mirrors, 6 speaker mp3, fog lights, alloy wheels, tinted windows, 8 airbags and pretty roomy for a small car!Jun 26, 2008

I drove the 1.2litre.. Please don't get it! It is underpowered, severely!! Handling is nippy, great city car. Fuel consumption on the 1.2 is great. Lots of hard plastics, not much features..Jun 11, 2008

Performance
4 star rating
There are three engines with the Suzuki Swift; a 92bhp 1.3-litre and a 1.5-litre with 101bhp plus a 68bhp 1.3-litre diesel The 1.3 petrol will provide decent enough performance, but it can get rather coarse and loud towards the end of its rev range. The 101bhp 1.5-litre is much smoother and has better performance for long distance cruising. The diesel is perky and once you've got used to the Eighties style turbo lag, and it's relatively enjoyable too hurtle about too.
#
Driving
4 star rating
The Swift has decent amounts of grip with well-controlled body movements. The ride is generally comfortable, but the impact of crashing over potholes can be strongly felt in the cabin.
#
Space
4 star rating
There's plenty of room for four adults, although three abreast on the rear bench seat might be a bit of a squeeze. At 213 litres, the boot isn't the largest in the category, but the rear seats split-fold 60/40 and tumble forward to boost load capacity to 562 litres. Take a look at the rivals and even this is fairly small compared to some, though - the humble Nissan Micra, for example, has another 20 litres on the Swift.
#
Build quality
4 star rating
Both the exterior and interior feels better than Suzukis of yore. The panels all fit snugly together and the smartly designed dash uses plastics that look and feel of a high quality. The engines have been used by Suzuki for a while and so are well-proven.
#
Equipment
3 star rating
The Swift has just two trim levels, the GL and the GLX, the latter only coming with the 1.5-litre engine. If you can live without cool air, the GL is pretty well equipped, coming with remote control locking, a CD player and electric windows. If you're desperate to be cooled down, then the GLX adds aircon plus alloy wheels. Metallic paint is an option throughout and an automatic gearbox an option on the GLX only.
#
Safety
4 star rating
The base model comes with twin front and side curtain airbags as standard, while ABS also comes on every model. The Swift was awarded four stars in EuroNCAP's crash tests, which is good for a supermini. The body proved to be extremely strong, suffering minimal deformation in the frontal impact.
#
Owning
4 star rating
Both petrol engine's fuel economy figures are wallet friendly, being in the forties, while insurance costs are low too (groups four and six). The biggest question mark is over the car's residual prices. The old Swift never used to hold onto its values particularly well, but the new model is much sharper and modern, so it promises better things.
#
Value
4 star rating
The new Swift offers seriously good value for money. Although it seriously undercuts its mainstream rivals, it still has all the power and build quality of a car costing a grand more. And for once it's a Suzuki that looks good too.
#
Verdict
4 star rating
The Swift is very European, with a very cool, very modern and even vaguely macho image. Yet it's still a practical three- and five-door hatch that's very well constructed and represents excellent value for money. If you can bypass the lack of cred you're onto a winner.
Fancy something hotter?
#
Swift Sport
5 star rating
Suzuki has made the already excellent Swift into a great hot hatch with meaty steering, a chunky, short-throw gearshift, and a stiffened chassis that doesn't want to understeer. The 123bhp 1.6-litre engine revs cleanly and gives the car just enough pace. We love it.
