2007 Mitsubishi Triton Reviews, Pricing & Specs

The Mitsubishi Triton, called the Strada in the Philippines, has decent performance for the price. The GLS Sport has a 3.2L CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection) engine that is essentially the same engine as the new Pajero. The engine is rather powerful for the light frame of the pickup and offers excellent acceleration. Braking and handling is impressive and almost car-like. As with most Mitsubishi SUVs and pickups, the shift-on-the-fly 4x4 still continues to amaze me. Shifting from 2WD to 4WD is easy and quick. For fuel economy, I am able to run somewhere between 10 - 13kms/L. On the other hand, build quality was somewhat disappointing. The pickup is under a year-old and has made several trips to the shop due to some squeaks in the clutch and noise in the rear suspension. In spite of these problems, the dealership was able to address all my concerns and correct them all promptly. The pickup has a very aggressive exterior styling and somehow mimics the helmet of a Stormtrooper from a George Lucas movie (check out a white colored Strada and you'll get my point). Overall, the Mitsubishi Strada continues the L200 tradition and is a very fun vehicle to drive both in the city and off-road.Sep 07, 2008
