2006 BMW Z4 M Reviews, Pricing & Specs

What owners say
"Owners of the 2006 BMW Z4 M generally love its engaging driving experience, impressive handling, and powerful engine, describing it as a 'true driving machine' and a 'rocket ship.' Many appreciate the car's classic roadster design and the precise manual transmission. However, some drivers mention it feels slightly underpowered compared to modern cars and criticize the handling not being as good as expected. A few also note that maintenance can be a hassle."
Its the perfect roadster with perfect price/performance
November 13, 2007The car looks great, and exceeded my expectations in handling. It's power is just right. Manual transimission shifts smooth and precise.
January 20, 2008A true driving machine. This little bullet is a blast to drive, 2006 and everything it tight and responsive. M steering and the seating position makes this guy handle like no other car I have driven. Slightly under powered by modern standards but with the naturally aspirated inline 6, and a 8k rev limit it always responds to more gas. I like that it is free of GMS or other heads up displays. Going to try and hold onto this little guy for awhile.

March 3, 2022A rocket ship! Its a tight fit at 65, but what a ride. I had a 2004 Z4 3.0si, but the M version will absolutely blow it away. Fun to drive. An absolutely beautiful automobile.
November 18, 2022The car will become a classic collectable in the future. A real good handler that corners as if on rails, yet is has a smooth ride and handles very predictably. BMW really outdid itself when it dropped the 3 Series engine into the Z4 to create this performance car. It is head and shoulders above the standard Z4.
August 10, 2011Very fast, very distinctive, brilliant engine
January 13, 2008Roadster version. Advanced for the time; aged for todays tech. Low electroics and a true drivers car. Prepare to be engaged and manage the car on a regular basis.
July 21, 2021Big power with comfort. Hey, it's a big step for me. It's got a roof! Looks ace especially with some new CSL rims. Rattle box (well one) and high servicing is not fun! What to buy next!? Something with more seats!
