What owners say
"Owners of the 2005 Volvo V70 generally appreciate its performance, comfort, and reliability, describing it as a solid car with good fuel economy and ample space. Many love the comfortable seats and quiet ride, highlighting the V70 as ideal for family use. However, some noted concerns regarding the performance of the tires on North American roads and mentioned that while it has good power, the fun factor is somewhat lacking."
Most comfortable car seats ever, quiet ride
May 4, 2008Having worked in the imported auto parts business for over 45 years and owned 7 Volvos, I consider the 2005 V70 to be one of the best 5 cylinder FWD Volvos built as far as quality, reliability, and being trouble free. No it does not have the durability of the old 240s, but its among the best modern Volvos
December 2, 2020Very good car for your everyday driving and moving your family and stuff around. Has enough power also. Good acceleration: 7,8s to 0-100km/h. Good ride comfort. Car is very pleasing to drive. I would recommend this car for anyone who needs space and safety.

December 1, 2011It´s tuned 2.4D with originally 168hp, 383nm torque. After Rica software it dynod 218hp, 510nm torque. It goes pretty well but it is not thirsty, 5,1l/100km on highway and 6,0-6,5l/100km in city.
March 17, 2008Overall great comfortable solid veh.Only drawback of the v70 2.5T AWD is the HP TIRES AND RIMS they look great and would be great on the Autobaun but on North American roads they are crap. If they had Regular tires they would be great.Hope someone has a reply with a solution James
April 23, 2010Having penned and led the AT05 programme, it was natural that when i was looking to replace the 806, that i should chose the V70 as my wife still hankered after her Taiwan S60, and i needed a long legged cruiser for reliable journeys back'n'forth to Coventry University. The D5 has good 'grunt' with a good 'roar' when booted ..... and still returns 50mpg on a M'way run .... its a 'keeper' .... 105k miles and just reached maturity. Plus i love the colour, on the 2005 i chose, which made it to production.
December 31, 2012It is a solid car with good economy. I has nice seats, excellent comfort and nice milage per gallon. If I have to write much more I do not what to fill in, so I would rather not. It has has a lot of nice utilities such as the shopping compartment
