Great car, perfect for snow, looks great, lots of cargo room. Hard to find these with an automatic, which makes life easier when driving in heavy traffic. I like this body style better than the new ones, so get one and save a lot of $.Oct 16, 2014

Great car, perfect for snow, looks great, lots of cargo room. Hard to find these with an automatic, which makes life easier when driving in heavy traffic. I like this body style better than the new ones, so get one and save a lot of $.Oct 16, 2014

You can Make a WRX as Fast as a WRX STi with Less Than $1000

I would say all in all the vehicle is an excellent sports car. Its light, its quick, and its fun. Fun! For the price you can't go wrong either. Its my first import and I've been hooked. When you sit down it gives the impression it wants to just hug you while you take it out for a spin. Its economical enough and comfortable enough to daily drive. Everything seems where it should be. Has been very reliable to me, top of radiator finally blew after 98k miles. Its a great beginner sports car, and great to build up. When you run it through its paces you really begin to notice the potential of the car. It seems if it has a learning curve, you can do so much with it once you get the feel. Granted its a sedan, it isn't a family car. For the price, its a steal. Sep 25, 2012

Awesome ride at a decent price. Look at the
others then come back to this one. Do they have
AWD? Turbo? Cheaper? You can't beat this thing in
the snow, on the track, on the beach, anywhere.

Performance - GOOD
Build quality - Mechanically soild but some small rattles.
Appearance - I like it but then I'm a sports wagon/estate, hatchback lover.
Cost of Ownership - not too bad, until you start buying mods.
Fun factor - come on 280HP mountain roads less than 1 hour away, Interstates/Motorways that are straight for miles, and snow to play with in winter :)Sep 21, 2009

Performance - Quick car, but lacks torque in low RPMs because of turbo lag. Out handles anything of similar value on the road.
Build Quality - Built like a tank. I pulled an F-250 out of the mud with this car.
Appearance - Takes a while to warm up to the look of this car. Its a cop magnet tho. Functional hood scoop and a spoiler don't help.
Cost of Ownership - 91 Octane only but its worth it. Its really not much more than a good Accura to own.
Fun Factor - This car feels like its on rail road tracks. You can take it off road. If there's lots of pot holes and un-even surface on your road you'll be able to drive faster on it than say... a super car. Super fun.Sep 02, 2009

great low end torque, good acceleration from stock
turbo, interior is very nice for stock and built for race-
styled comfort, appearance is unique, gas mileage is
good and maintenance is low until you start modifying

Its quick, handels good, well built and reliable, its supposed to get decent gas mileage but i speed so i dont get good mpg at all, i have the premium stock sound system and it sounds pretty good, i tihnk thats it.....Jun 25, 2009

Has under-steer but good acceleration.
Looks good, storage not as abundant as previously
thought.
Gas mileage is not as good as i hoped
Fun to drive.
I would recommend this car to anyone who wants to
buy this car. Unless they want something to drift then

I really miss this car. I should have kept it. There was nothing wrong with it except for the transmission and I should have just replaced it. This car took anything you threw at it and it would take even more with a swapped six speed or PPG gears. This car was my favorite out of all the cars I've owned and if I could get mine back I would take it in a heartbeat.Jun 12, 2009

This car is a real bargain at half the price of an STi
(at least where I live), its performance is very much
in the same league when fitted with PPP - Prodrive
Performance Package which added another 40hp or
so to the basic 220hp stock engine. Plenty of
torque is available from 2,500rpm. If driven
sensibly, it will return respectable mileage.
Suspension needs work as OEM dampers can be
bouncy on many occasions, but fear not as plenty of

Performance of this car is amazing with a few simple mods. Build quality is very good but the light weight of all the parts and the minimal noise reduction leads to some fun rattles. Although most won't agree i love how the car looks... especially after a front lip and a slight drop. Gas mileage is good considering the performance and AWD of the car. I would consider this car on the lever of a Lotus in the fun to drive factor (after some light modding) because of how light and responsive they are. The car is extremely "raw". Jan 01, 2009

Awsome seed quick off the mark the handling is how you expect a subaru to handle like a grey hound round a track, the build quality was absolutly solid all the bumps and speed yet still no creeks, with the carbon world rally spoiler on the back it looked the danglies, best car I've had and i would have another one any day.Sep 04, 2008

I bought the car new. Is a very willing performer in most conditions, though can be a bit of a princess when it comes to different brands of fuel or cold weather. If you enjoy driving and like to have some fun but need a car that is still easy to drive then there is not much out there that will beat this in its original condition. And it looks good too. Fast but turbo lag sucks, needs better downpipe and CPU flash. Stock Shifter a bit notchy. Factory wheels and tires a joke for this car, this is why I dont give it amazing for performance. AWD performance is unbeatable in all conditions. Interior is nice. Fuel exonomy is excellent if you stay off the turbo...Good luck with that!!
Still an overall excellent car thats designed from the ground up to perform. It's just that Subaru detunes the engine -20hp for the states and adds stock Legacy wheels and tires to keep costs down.

Subaru certainly doesn't have a gift when it comes to designing attractive
cars, but there's something about the Impreza in the WRX form. It's like a
bulldog. Ugly, but cute at the same time. This car is the ultimate daily

After the upgrades: VF34, uppipe, downpipe, catback, cobb tuning map, 565cc pinks injectors, and many many more; the car pushes about 350bhp (faster than any stock or slightly modified STi).
These cars are very easy to mod, and relatively inexpensive compared to other cars.Jan 24, 2008
