The car looked great mileage wonderful well keeped, but the price was way too high for a car of that year, yes it has low mileage but other cars of that year have high miles yes but you have to take in consideration it's a 20 year old car, also kbb gave its pricing as half of the asking price...would love to own it but pricing is way way to much.Apr 23, 2025

Bought this vehicle for company work (video production). It has been super versatile and efficient for my purposes. Carry equipment & people all with great MPG! Reliability has been fantastic with regular oil changes and tire rotations the only on-going maintenance required. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this vehicle. Only very minor gripe is road noise at highway speeds. Due to boxy aerodynamics and peppy 5spd gearing its a bit noisy.Apr 06, 2015

This is the most impressive car i have ever owned. This is the best car you can buy. We have done everything in this car, great for families and working. i have fit a kids bed in the back as well as lumber. its perfect!Aug 19, 2014

I enjoy the visibility from the large windshield, great headroom and legroom for tall people. This little car has lots of power for such a small engine. It handles the mountains very well kicking in lower gear when necessary. The low profile tires were not made for a super smooth ride but great if you like the look. The cargo space is fantastic when the back seats are down. The opening is larger than our full size SUV to haul large boxes. The remote-start is great for either very hot or cold days so you don't have to get in until the temperature is comfortable.Jul 13, 2014

I bought this for business use and it has been very good for that. Tons of space, unique design that looks great with vinyl wrap, sporty with the 5 speed, great gas mileage considering how aerodynamically challenged it is. Defiantely has been a vehicle I am proud to own. Nov 29, 2012

Probably the best car I've ever owned. Between the interior space, which makes the car feel huge, and its compact exterior makes it super easy to drive and park, it really is different then anything I've ever driven. I've never had an issue with this car! It's only ever needed gas and fluids. It has a good ride feel, comfortable seats, and is great for trips especially with the XM radio which is just awesome (especially since it's free!). This car may have been geared towards kids in their late teens, but it really works well for families with all of the interior space, and fuel economy it should not be overlooked. Great small car, lots of space, easy to park, very good gas mileage, comfortable with passengers, over 180k trouble free miles. Front pads replaced @ 95k, rear shoes repl;aced @ 115k, oil service every 5k. Drive daily as sales & delivery vehicle, love it! Got a set of winter tire and the Xb goes like my Ridgeline (AWD) in the snow.
The utlility of the Xb is fantastic, I deliver Baked good in the morning and use for Sales calls in the afternoon.
I do have a trailer hitch and the Xb will tow a couple Motorcycles........carefully.

excellent commuter car. performance slightly lacking. manual transmission slick and
sharp shifts. over 30 mpg city and highway. low price and cost of ownership.
unbleieveable use of space. small exterior dimensions yet huge on the inside. won
car and driver comparo with other boxy cars. gets compliments everywhere.

Some say its ugly, but it drives pretty good and has a ton of room inside. Gets great gas mileage too! Other then some odd issues which I believe are because Toyota cut costs to make this cheaper, its been a great car. Mar 17, 2010

the preformance derived from the 1.2 is lacking but over all it is made up for by the handling and the safety.
the build quality is wonderfull imo nothing flimsey and nothing that seems out of place. the apperiance although known for its boxy exterior is also know to be a show car, and for the interior it is very modern and sleek with much leg room for all passengers. the car for the most part is fairly inexpencive, being around 12,000 usd. the car is alot of fun to drive and very simple to drive, most of all very comfortable.Jan 12, 2010

car was amazing, quality was superb. very fun to drive and performed rather well considering it only has 100 hp. gas mileage was great. not too many costs. more of a teen car though. deffinately a good car that is worthwhile.

It was very good overall but not very good if you live in a hilly area. Lack of cruise control made it tiring on long trips, and because it was so boxy the wind would make it move around. Great if you live in the city.Sep 13, 2009

I like my car because its reliable, good on gas, and cheap to
maintain... something i could never say about the Pontiac i
owned. This car lives up to its Toyota name. Its lack of
power makes it fun to drive too... drive it hard and not break

This is a fun car to drive. Don't be misled that it is a performance vehicle because it isn't. There is enough cargo space for daily things but not like an SUV. It is deceptively roomy inside and can handle four full size adults with ease. Its not very powerful but its size doesn't need it, besides it gets great fuel mileage.Jun 24, 2009

Love this car! You can zip all over town and not feel
guilty. Great gas milage. Fit all your friends or whatever
your hauling easily. Cute all around appearance. Make
sure to get the manual transmission (for the extra
zippiness) and upgrade all the performance to get more

it has surprising pick up for 108 hp. the engine is a little noisy. it has the smooth shifting that Toyotas are famous for. tons of room inside yet small enough to park anywhere. it hardly burns any gas and is fun to drive.Mar 17, 2009

Great car, it's fun to drive and it is quite unique. I have wanted one ever since I first saw the Scion Concept car and as soon as I turned 16 and got my license I was dreaming of when I could get one. Now 32,000+ miles later I am still enjoying my box.Mar 28, 2008

The car is slow as christmas, i think in the year 2005 it could only beat one other car off the line. The car is reliable in the years we've owned it we haven't had one problem. Only took it to the shop for regular checkups.Jan 16, 2008
