The car has been abused. Dents on the drivers side door handle that should not even need to be there. Its like one of the past owners likes to punch the car on the way in. Body is in terrible shape - a lot of work needed to be done to bring this car in good shape.Mar 31, 2024

Probably the best Lexus ever made was the 2005-2006 LS430. Opulent, quiet and austere with just enough power and technology to make most Lexus owners happy. Powered trunk, parking sensors, plush seats and matched wood grain on all wood surfaces. Only downside is changing the timing belt and door actuators going out. Forget 2001-2004 and get the updated 2005-2006..Aug 01, 2023

Best Luxury car I have ever owned since the 80s. You can’t go wrong and they get great gas mileage on premium non ethanol gas. 30.2 mpg Highway driving at 75mph. They are not expensive to maintain. I could buy a new one but I do not like any of the new cars today including the new Lexus LS, so I will be looking for a low mileage 430 from the years 2004 through 2006 with less than 40,000 miles and in mint condition. I will buy up three of these cars and another truck for my future retirement and they will last me until I can’t drive anymore. Jul 01, 2023

Dont own the 05 but an 04. Bought it with 174k in 2016. Now has 216k. Solid car. Maintenance wise, not including oil changes I have put $2300 into the car. ( Includes : brakes, tires and new set of struts). Not bad for 7 years. Alot of warning lights but when I take it to a shop, they cant find anything wrong. Smooth ride. Owned an Sc430. LS430 with same engine is far superior. Took a recent trip to S.C. Hit 135mph on I20, felt like I was doing 60 tops.May 05, 2023

Great car.....drives on a cloud.... excellent motor and transmission....with basic regular maintenance will last 300.000 plus miles....rides better than most new cars and looks better as well..... definitely a good investment that holds its value well...Feb 24, 2022

LS430 can be an excellent luxury sedan, but be prepared to sink a lot of money into it. And this is specially the case in northern areas of snow and salt. Every LS430 I researched had a history riddled with an incredible amount of repairs. I mean repairs beginning far more early than you could possibly expect. Fuel pumps. Starter motors. Door lock actuators. And brakes? Expect brakes to last maybe 30k miles. Exhaust problems. Trunk lid motors. Hood release cables corroding, probably due to salt. And this 2005 I examined? It looked like you could catch rabies from the interior. So, fine cars I have no doubt. But be prepared for enormous repair bills, especially at the Dealer. Or, you will be doing it yourself. Just lost my first Ls430 in a flood. Found another with lower miles. Previous car had 190k on it. No car compares. So comfortable. Great features. Friends of mine with cars that were 2012+ even said it was nicer than their own cars. Great vehicle for price. Apr 04, 2021

Great car. Im thoroughly enjoying it. Ive owned it for a little over a week. Everything works. The only downside with a car this age is that you dont have many Bluetooth options. You can just use your phone to make a call and the screen for the infotainment center looks dated. its a very complicated process if you want to upgrade it. All in all still satisfied with the buy and the car. You get all the luxury of any other comparable car in the same class and your model but you also get Toyota reliability. Feb 27, 2021

Amazingly engineered vehicle! As with anything, it requires maintenance by professionals that know what theyre doing. This vehicle is so quiet and void of buzzes or rattles, every little thing will be heard. Substandard windshield replacement will result in wind noise due to incorrect sealing. Changing of timing belt and water pump by your local Joe Schmoe using non OEM parts will result in oil leaks, if not worse. Listening to a tire salesman insisting on installing high performance ZR rated tires is overkill and will affect the ride and quietness. Long story short - fantastic vehicle that requires Lexus level competence to maintain its excellence. Feb 23, 2021

Front power window motors bad. Rear, electric sun shade did not work. Transmission was sloppy. Suspension felt worn out. Numerous buttons popping of of dash, radio volume, etc.Sep 20, 2020

This is a fact,this model car was in an independent car test .by and independent company.This car went up against the top of the line Mercedes Benz,top of the line bmw,porche ,I believe rolls Royce,and some other cars,this lexus ls 430 beat all of them.it came in number 1 .I know this car if well maintained will give the Wright buyer the best bang for the money.I know this because I have a 2001 lexus ls 430 with 218670 thousands miles,and I also own a 2008 lexus ls 460 with 261324 thousands miles and still running like New.best cars ever madeAug 14, 2020

Had a exhaust leak, tires needed balancing, had to be detailed inside was dirty, outside had to be washed and polished, it had a lot of scratches. Trac off and VSC lights on. We are happy with the car, and thankful we didn’t pay anymore for it.

This car is perfect for traveling. It has excellent handling and luxurious interior features that make for a comfortable, quiet, and safe experience. The car has intuitive components that spoil the occupants- like the drivers ability to move the front passengers seat through the push of a button while seating in the drivers seat. The only negative about this car is it's rear wheel drive.May 18, 2014

Rides like glass; smooth quiet power; silky transmission; feels very solid and safe, airbags everywhere; quality of materials is awesome, paint is beautiful, HID headlights make the road light up, MPG is great for size of car; Mark Levinson stereo is best I've ever heard. After a stressful day at work, I open the perfectly balance door with awesome trim, close it with the absolutely most satisfying "whoomp", start it up to a quiet idle, slip it into gear and feel that glassy ride - click on the stereo to hear Beethoven --and feel the stress just slip away .... If, like me, you've never appreciated classical music, listen to it in this car, and you'll love it. I can hear the difference between the quality of classical music recordings easily. Such depth! ultra Luxury package! Yay! That's the top of the line models for Lexus! It costs a lot if you buy it new, but it is very cheap if you buy a certified pre-owned one. The original price was like 80 grand and after the lease guy turned it back it dropped to 30!Jul 25, 2009

My second LS, but first Ultra version. Total luxury. Everything always works. A real
pleasure to drive. Too many virtues to discuss. A small issue with steering, which appears to
be a non-oem tire set up, which I expect to resolve.
