Its Not The LONG MODEL... Which I Much Prefer. Its The Perfect Colour Combination Of All & Of Course Has All Of The Finest Safety & Luxury Features. If You Can Find More In One Vehicle, Well, You Would Have To Prove It To Me.!!! The XJ8 L Van den Plas Is The Absolute Top Of The JAGUAR Line... Long, Sleek, Stylish, Classic Lines & Safer Than A Locomotive Engine.
If You Dont LOVE The Big JAGUAR XJ8 Models, Well, You Just Dont Know Real Automotive Engineering, PERIOD.May 23, 2021

Jaguar should have used the XJR suspension in all XJ8L models ...which does not roll in turns yet still rides super well.Dec 01, 2020

These cars are so over priced in the used car market. Everybody including dealers, thing these Jags are the best thing since duck soup. But nobody, and I mean NOBODY, knows that those air ride shocks do not last forever, they go around 50,000 miles, which is way too soon, and they cost $500 each and an extra $500 for the air pump. So, after you drive the car off the lot, you are looking at a shock bill of $2,500....AND THAT IS JUST FOR PARTS!!! And Jag dealers labor of 8 hours, at $165/hour...that a plus $1,320....for a grand total of $3,820.!! And you hope and pray that nothing else is bad! But hey!...Its a Jag!Jul 06, 2020

Very comfortable and reliable car to own. My 1st Jag, but not my last!!! Plenty of room for 4-5 passengers with a luxury ride. Surprisingly good fuel economy. Impressive visual appearance and an eye-catcher.

Great and comfortable car to drive. Lots of space in the rear seat and in the front seat, quiet when driving down the road and handles back country roads like a dream. Glad we bought this car, will see how repair costs go in the futureJan 12, 2015

Overall a great sedan but too much plastic under the hood and with all the room in there stuff put where it cannot be gotten to.
Good gas mileage, handles well for a heavy car, lots of interior room, Radio channel alignment is squirely at best...Jan 01, 2015

I loved jaguar since I was a young child. Have owned four a 340 sedan, an XJ with a four speed and electric overdrive, a 2000 XJR and have loved them all and yes they all had there own little quirk about them that I had to overcome. But then again they are all Jags. Oct 09, 2014

I have owned the car for 10 years and it was a great investment. The repairs were covered under warranty and the vehicle was dependable. I would highly recommend this machine if you enjoy Pure Joy and great driving. Go Get One.Aug 04, 2014

Fun to drive. Great on long road trips. Some many be put off by the styling but is is a classic British charm and knows when to use good manners and when to get rowdy.
Excellent deals available and surprisingly good fuel economy. Jul 25, 2013

Luxurious (not just "stylish"), comfortable, excellent interior design makes it an enjoyable car for drivers of all ages and abilities. Sitting in the backseat is more like sitting on the sofa in your family room - only more comfortable. But don't be taken in by the smooth elegance.... all you have to do is step on the gas to get the full benefit of the Jaguar racing team history. Need to make a left turn onto a busy street to get out of our parking lot or neighborhood? No problem. This jag will have you pulled out and up-to-speed with the traffic flow before you realize it. Simply put, it's elegant performance and enduring style...Jul 07, 2013

The Jag I always wanted - all the toys, most of them still work, fast enough to have to be careful, rare enough to turn heads, nice to leave with the valet parking, everything you need in a car, only costs £25 to fill the tank :-)Oct 11, 2010

The car drives like a dream. Couldn't ask for more performance or smoother power from the 4.2L V8. More toys than anyone could ever ask for either. Plus - it gets great gas mileage. All in all, the kitty delivers flawlessly.May 14, 2009

Performance? Man, I live in the wrong State, L0L I nail this baby and I'm 80-90 by the end of the block.
Squeaks & Rattles? Only when I take my moms Chryslerout for a spin.
Appearance. Well, would you believe i still get the compliments after 3 years.
Cost of Ownership - yea, does this baby depreciate fast. But I get astonishing gas mileage. Long trips down the interstate a whopping 36MPG at a steady 80MPH. Normally I get low 20's with each tank although just the 2 mi to work and home pulls me down to 18. Who cares if it takes SuperHi-test.
Fun factor. Yes, this car is fun to drive (and comfy too)Dec 19, 2008

One of the most under-rated cars of all time. I know many people are prejudice about Jaguars in general but this car has completely altered my perception of the company. The engine is one of the smoothest I have ever drive. Power is delivered in massive amounts (400BHP) but it is extremely linear. The car, for its size, is extremely agile as I am able to keep pace with Mini Coopers and S2000's driving at a highly spirited pace in my neighboring canyons. The brakes are infallible...the 14.4 inch rotors are clamped by 4 piston Brembo floating aluminum calipers. This car has not failed me once...no major issues have arose during my four years of ownership. The styling is unique to its own as its distinctiive shape cannot be mistaken for any other car. With only 1,400 made so far, its is a rare breed of car to see. Gas mileage is amazing on the freeway where I can average up to 27.6MPG at an average speed of 85MPH. Maintenance has been covered by Jaguar so I have not paid a penny for anything. Its combination of style, performance, and reliability makes it one of the best cars I have ever driven and owned.
