If you think that the Honda Accord is a reliable car, then meet its upscale cousin the Acura TSX. A tad smaller and better handling, this car rocks in four cylinder four door style compared to the staid Accord. That being stated, if you put it up against V6 Accord the Accord will beat out the Acura in a straight line. The TSX is no slouch either. Yes, the styling is forgettable. But, no, the TSX will not be quickly forgotten. Especially after a few spins in this sub-$30,000 vehicle.
With that typical Honda four-cylinder engine that loves to rev, and sounds very good doing it, the TSX offers the wonderful blend of sharp handling, an upscale (again, understated) interior, a laundry list of standard equipment and even a navigation system that is one of the easiest I’ve ever used (should you need such a thing).
It’s fun, fuel-efficient and even somewhat affordable – not to mention Honda reliable. But how could a “four-banger” ever earn a key into the sport sedan room, you ask? To which I say: Have you ever driven Honda’s four-bangers? Have you?
The 2.4-liter, 200 horsepower, double-overhead cam i-VTEC motor actually doesn’t find its stride until you’re at about 6,800 rpm (that’s past red-line levels for us domestic folks). That means the TSX, with either its six-speed manual or five-speed automatic with Sportshift feature, finds its peak power, torque and acceleration when it is revving the most, not at the typically domestic low levels. Fun quotient just moved up a notch, or 10.Jun 12, 2022

Owned my TSX for a year and a half, love everything about it. No repairs needed at all. Never failed on me. Only things I had to do is to change oil and fill it up. Would definitely recommend. You will like it too.Mar 31, 2015

Love the car. Purchased it two years ago and drove for 30k miles with an issues. Definitely would recomend if someone was looking for sporty sedan with decent power. 6vspeed manual transmission is also a nice addition to the car.Jan 27, 2015

I like its styling neat but slightly understated and its performance and handling. Plenty of room given overall size. Great quality of build feels really solid on the road and option levels make it very luxurious when compared with some other "Premium" vehicles.Jul 01, 2013

Great value, excellent handling. So far no mechanical issues. I hope that it would last for at leat 10 more years. The interiors feels like a million dollar car and the handling seems to be more german than japanese, but with the japanese reliabilityJan 25, 2013

Again, this car has a lot of great pros. It is a luxury car and really does feel that way. It has a great exterior, power everything, heated seats. Gas mileage is still good but wish it was better. Reliable and great car overall. Aug 14, 2012

i love my tsx..this car is perfect..i have never had a problem with this car mechanically. The only thing that would be a little better is my sound system at times i have to turn the bass down when music isnt that loud..over all i WOULD purchase again..next time maybe in a white 6-speed :)Jan 11, 2011

It is a great car, I really like the sporty feel it has. It gets excellent gas mileage. It looks very sporty, and it has been a very reliable car. No major problems other then chronic brake squeaks. A really nice car.Dec 02, 2009

Quick start for an I-4 engine. Powerful braking. Amazing handling and rockets through turns. Blew a fuse that regulate power to the electric outlets, and had problems with the power locks; nothing the warranty cant fix. Looks amazingly stylish on the outside, beautiful leather and silver trimming. Great gas mileage. Have paid nothing in repair costs thanks to warranty. A blast to drive, especially on small roads with lots of turns.Sep 05, 2009

Performance: great acceleration, brakes are amazing, handles pretty well
Build: never any repairs needed
Appearence: interior insturments are perfectly placed and quality materials used. Exterior is nicely designed with great lines and shape.
Cost: 2.5l i-vtec/ 500km's/full tank

It's a Honda (Honda makes Acura), so it's definitely reliable. It picks up with awesome speed, especially in tip-tronic. Gas is just like any Honda, good. It is so much fun to drive, especially through the canyons to the beach.Jul 15, 2009

I love the handling, it is nearly impossible to get it to lose traction. The interior is very ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing. It is absolutely stunning to look at and its a hoot to drive. Gas mileage could have been better though. Jan 17, 2009

I really enjoy this car until i have to park it. Its so long! I also hate how going 30 is impossible because the car either slows right off or thinks it should be doing 40.The car is fun to drive when nobody is around but often it takes off and it's not to often that i catch myself doing 140 but it happens, accidentally. Not the most exciting car I admit. But the it handles great, bloody reliable and its a handsome design as well.
Acceleration is the weakest aspect of the car. With 190hp naturally aspirated engine powering a 1400kg car acceleration is brisk but not mind blowing. It is the handling that sets this car apart from generic hyundais and toyota camry's.Oct 04, 2008

has more luxuries than rsx, not a super fast car but ppl dont buy it for speed. not too bad on gas and looks pretty sweet. love the little luxuries the car offers, a bit more pricey than the civic si or rsx but u get u what u pay for. Sep 10, 2008

The TSX was a great value. It was a very nice car for the price. The performance was acceptable for a 4-cylinder. It was roomy enough inside. But there was little wow-factor; nothing that would make one fall in love with the car.Mar 31, 2008
