2004 Toyota Camry Solara Reviews, Pricing & Specs

I could have done better for the price, but I thought for my first car, getting a nice, solid Toyota would be good. It's pretty quick, but of course not a rally car or anything. It also drives a bit too smoothly, there's some throttle lag, and they added another unnecessary air filter thing to dull the engine noise, which I will take out soon (doesn't damage the car, it's just a noise dampener). The automanual/tiptronic or whatever you call it is basically a slushbox - takes forever to shift, which contributes to the throttle lag. One thing I hate is that it has virtually no aftermarket support - I can't really change it besides a basic intake mod... Oil change every 2-3k miles, not a hassle at all. Mileage is pretty cool, about 28 highway if I actually drive like a normal person. I've been running it on 87 octane though it does even better on premium (it's great with both). Oh, and it saved my ass in an accident... which could have been fatal. This car is really fun to drive, especially with the top down.

Toyotas are a proven car to be reliable and nice looking cars. This Solara is no exception. The SLE is the top of the line of the Solara models. This is a great car for a young person and a great commuter car.

Good looks and smooth power delivery. Suspension is a little soft, but comfortable on long trips. I imageine the resale value is not so good b/c of the deal I got on it, but it's a Toyota so the build quality is not in question and I imagine I'll keep it for some time. Great value for money in the used car world. Avg city mpg - 23 Highway - 30.

i love the way it looks, it drives like a really good v6 toyota if u know what i mean. very comfy easy access to the rear seats, very roomy. really good on gas about 25-27 average mpg. gives me about 360-390 miles per tank. 215 hp isn't bad at all

It looks great from the inside and outside. It's comfortable to drive. It's very smooth on the highway. It feels numb and sluggish in city driving. I always have warning/maintenance lights on and the door hinges are failing so the doors are falling off. Very safe car to drive.

Ive had the car since new. Ultra reliable. No obvious outside rust still, although I did have it rust proofed the day I picked it up. There are rust problems underneath, like exhaust, gas tank straps, parking brake cables, etc. Expected at that age though.

great fuel economy,quiet,smooth ride, decent acceleration,tight and no rattles etc., no repairs needed ,still feels new and stylish, quality finish, still gets looks,test drove lots and best bang 4 buck,love the heated seats in canada,only real negative is poor rear visibility shoulder checking

Not a bad car with the 4-cylinder, a little slow off the line, but still not a bad car. Built very well no problems yet.

Had it for nearly 4 years, only things I've replaced are the front brake pads, tires, and thermostat.

I love my car because it is fast and sporty. It handles great as it has seventeen inch rims and low profile tires. I costs a little to pay for as it is a 40,000 dollar car brand new. It is very fun to drive as well as reliable and worth the money!

The dark midnight blue color looks nice especially at night along with the sparkle of the shiny rims & tenant windows adds a better appeal to the eye. Easy to clean seats if it gets dirty. Sporty & Fun to drive, Good car overall!
