This car has been with me for a long time. I have done miner repairs and basic maintenance on it and it still keeps going. So far I have 215,000 miles on her and getting ready for my fourth set of tires. Great little car.Jan 01, 2013

Is a great car. I usually drive it to anyplace at any time. Great handling and performance for a 1.5liter engine. Air conditioning,brakes are great. Maintenance cost very cheap. Not good for cargo because it engine but for supermarket and other things great. Has a great trunk space. Overall for me its a wonderful car ever made by Hyundai

I love how snippy this car can be sometimes, its compact and can store a good amount of things.
The Transmission takes a bit to kick into gear on time and that is a bit of an annoyance, but once its warmed up it works fairly well in and out of traffic.
Not a 4 door, which is my preference when it comes to vehicles, I like my passengers (when i have them) to be able to get in and out without a big ordeal in everyone having to get out of the car. But plenty of room in my opinion for 4 adults (definitely not 5)
Maintenance is fair, but you have to keep up with it like any other car out there.
Something no one really tells you is this has an interference engine which is a feature that baffles me.

good basic car for student, low maintenance cost,cheap on gas, good inner space,easy to park in tight space, good built quality,both interior and exterior styling for a 2001, not that mutch of ratteling noises, overall a pretty good deal

A quite reliable no nonsense oil burner that just does what it is meant to do...
Move and be a frugal mover. Dint expect anything else from it and was surprised
to find it to be a decent sedan. Had the TUD5 diesel engine from peugeot that was

Although its appear old and it has old school; mechanic it is very reliable. Cheap in terms for maintenance compared to similar a Japanese car. The interior looks plastic and dated. Performance is adequate in 1.3l for general usage. Build quality is good since most of our roads are worst and still no rattling inside.Gas millage is very good since its the primary factor fro me compared to a Japanese car. is a wonderful car great for the economy and is stylish. has great power for its class and size. cheap to insure and fix. the one draw back of the sport model is the heavy clutch leaves the car annoying in stop and go traffic.Jul 19, 2010

I have had this car for almost 5 years, no trouble at all. just normal fixes.
So happy with the look, especially from the rear. It produce adequate performance when just me on board, yet very economical.
Great first car for other !

cost - cheap
performance - minimum, fast acceleration, no high speed
cost of ownership 27-31 mpg
appearance - good trunk space, its a hatch back
fun - I already build the crap out of it
maintenance - I work on it, so I have low maintenance cost

That thing is junk after 60,000 miles. Many maintenance bills. Suspension is low grade and can't take much normal use. I have replace the rear wheel bearings four times plus the struts twice.
Performance stinks with more than one person in the car.Mar 25, 2009

Meh. The Accent has no character & no soul. It is reliable, cheap and easy to park however. It's built well enough for the price, but there's just something missing. It's light and nimble and easy to control, but cold and lifeless at the same time.Feb 20, 2009

This was the first car I ever owned. Someone hit me and it ended up being totaled. Gas mileage was good. In the first year of ownership, 2 belts broke! I had to have it towed and it was a new car...luckily it was covered under warranty. Interior styling was good for the price of the car, and exterior was nice looking. However, it ddi not take much for the car to be totaled & the air bag did not deploy. Sep 06, 2008

Descent car, has lasted me half a year now. Is my daily driver and performs all functions asked of it. I keep the rear seats down and have huge cargo area in the hatch/back. Easy to work on and have not needed to put anymore money in since I bought it.Aug 29, 2008

Tuff little car that was not treated well but kept on going.
Thrashed to hell n back but always started.
DANGEROUS handling, this thing was nearly the end of me...24mm sway bar, front strut brace. = power off oversteer, aquaplane on 2mm of water....nearly sending me under a truck. :) Mar 19, 2008

I bought this car recently and grow to love it more very day. It's very stripped down in that there are not power-anythings but it's transmission is fantastic and it's more stylish than my 1992 Honda I had prior to my Hyundai. I like it. Feb 06, 2008
