I loved my Acura cl I got it used 2003 got it in 2009 it is very fast handles great, never let me sit even when it would not go in reverse, I still could drive it!! Oct 07, 2020

I use this car for daily driving. Very responsive and agile. I avg. 24 mpg in suburban and
30 mpg. hgwy. I can drive this as an average or spirited driver and am never disappointed.
270 hp is more than enough to whiten your knuckles.Mar 04, 2015

This car was my first car. Never gave me many problems except for the cylinders misfiring. when it isn't jerking, it drives very smoothly and is overall comfortable. i have been through snow, water, hail, hot summers, and mud with this car but it hasn't broken down on me yet. Perfect size, nice handling and just sporty enough without calling attention. The ride and acceleration is surprising and overall is a very luxurious and premium feel. Have had a great time with this car since it was bought new and just wish Acura would come out with a coupe again!Apr 22, 2014

This car does its job. It is very reliable. It may no longer be that fuel efficient, in the light of today's 30+ miles per gallon cars, but was efficient back when it was newer. Once maintained, always ready to go.Mar 01, 2013

For a car with 155,000 miles on it, it runs almost the same as the day I drove it off the lot. Maintenance and upkeep has been far less than other cars I've owned. The ride quality is terrific and the road noise is very minimal. Power in the car is VERY good, with both low end torque and highway speeds.
Overall, if this car was still available as a new model, I would probably be in line for it again.May 11, 2012

I have this car for over 10 years, it owes me nothing! Fun to drive, great to look at. It has held up as well as you would expect for an Acura. Highly recommended if your family situation allows for a coupe! Mar 18, 2012

Never had a lick of trouble, love the handling, and ride is nice and stiff!! Nav system works awesome!! Integrates with stereo very well - mutes one side, and turns volume way down when prompting you. Counts down in feet to the turn - practically leads you by the nose!! How cool is that??Feb 29, 2012

The power of this car is impressive for the "sport-luxury coupe" category. The front seats hold your wait in place as you carve turns. The most major issue with these cars has been the transmission which many owners have had replaced several times. At this point, the warranty no longer exists. Factory Bose speakers match the aggression and precision of the CL. An aesthetically pleasing piece of work, many would be surprised that the car is over 10 years old. Lots of contemporary sport coupe drivers sleep on this guy.Feb 11, 2012

This is super fun to race Had it built for track not street was super fast
and did really well as a race car beat most cars including a couple
Ferraris at one point. This is a great built car if you can find the type s

I love this car. Heated leather seats, sunroof, Bose system, aftermarket dvd navigation system, 225hp V6 and I havent even really started the customization yet!!! Quiet, comfortable, quick and smooth! The only better version of this car would be the S-Type which bumps the hp up to 260, but that can be achieved with aftermarket intake, exhaust etc.Apr 30, 2010

Love it, plenty of power. Freshly installed iPod adapter. 230 hp is way more than enough for me. The car has tranny problems after 200 thousand so that's why its so cheap. Suspension is a bit soft, and the car is enormous so not good on handles.Feb 24, 2010

I really miss my Acura CL-S 01. The styling and interior quality is fantastic. The big issue is the transmission. They fail, fail, fail. I had one that had the transmission fix where they install a 2nd gear jet. Doesn't matter right after I sold it the tranny went. Doesn't matter if the seller states he never had to change the tranny it will eventually break. It's a design flaw and even the refurbed units eventually break. Too bad because all other aspects of the car were fantastic.

I've had the car for about a month now. So far I think the performance is very good. I had a Mazda Miata before, So the handling is no wear near as good as that. Its handling is good though for that size car and being front wheel drive. This car is a lof faster though. The build quality on this car is great. So far I really love the car, and I'll update this in about a year of ownership.Jan 15, 2010

2001 Acura CL-S Great daliy driver. Very quick and great handling. It has 270 h.p. and 230 ft-lbs torque. Low cost and just daily maintenance. Very fun to drive in the city or back roads. 20 m.p.g. around town and in upwards or 30 to 33 m.p.g. on the highway.... depending on my lead foot.Dec 30, 2009

this car is surprisingly fast. I can take out most V8 trucks and hang with a lot of cars with bigger engines even though my little 3.2 liter V6 is stock except for cold air intake. it cruises too I "accidently" had it up to 130 mph on the way to denver and it was solid as a rock. I know it's not much compaired to some kids cars all suped up from drug money but it does well. even though it's 8 years old I don't want to get rid of it because I love itDec 21, 2009

its and awesome car that is fully loaded and people just dont understand the raw speed that screams out of the engine. at 160mph not many cars go that fast out of the box.great buy just make sure you have an extended warranty if buying usedDec 03, 2009

th car was a dream when i boight it. i put the first mile on the car when i took it home. the quality of the car was great i enjoyed it while i owned it. the car looks great and it was truely a luxury car. it was fully loaded w/ GPS, touch screen, 6 disc cd changer, sun roof and leather interior. new from the dealership it was 32k. i would say it was pricey but worth it.

Corners like a tank but it amazingly fast on the take off. Beautiful interior and tons of cool features, but in needs a hand brake. The mileage isn't the greatest and the automatic stinks. Even the "tiptronic" feature doesn't really do anything for you.Jul 21, 2009

Compared to my 1998 Saturn SL1 it is a whole new
world! I enjoy the performance, stereo, seats. The car
feels bullet proof. I think they could have stiffend the
frame. Otherwise give it two thumbs up. Tough to get
my children in and out with the Coupe model, maybe

Type-S model really gives you the power to beat 3-series BMWs on the straights. Looks gourgeous after 8 years and still turns heads, especially with 15K HID lights. Gas mileage is decent enough and its a blast to drive. Only major problem is that Acura does have a recall on the 5 spd auto transmission.Nov 07, 2008

The 260 hp can come in handy but I wouldn't take this whip on windy roads. Doesn't hug corners well and its turning radius isn't all that great for a coupe. (its long frame is based on TL chasis) Powerful but not zippy. Really like the cab and trunk space though. Always have been a fan of Honda/Acura interiors. Comes with great features for a car of its price and is comfortable to drive on long trips. Sep 22, 2008

Overall, one of the best cars built at the time.
I test drove just about every car available at the time, and this was the winner. It was quick, handled well, great sound system, and awesome seats. My only complaint, no manual available that year. Had I gotten the TL-s, I'd probably still have it! (Coupes just don't work as well with kids.)

quiet, responsive and a nice growl when u get on
it...
the manual mode of the 5 spd auto is immediate
although I wish it allowed me to grab first gear.
on the other hand, the auto trans shifts abruptly
and the long term reliability of Honda automatics
isn't nearly as stellar as that of their engines.
I love the interior, black leather supportive seats,
all controls in the usual Honda places.
memory for the seating position is a bonus.
wish it was better on fuel.
brakes are great, VSA is not intrusive and it can be

its leather, so during the days the seats get really hot.
black on black is not good. the car excelerates pretty
fast. so far the car is great. it runs smoothly. gas
milage on a full tank isn't that great. maintenance on
the car isn't that bad either. i would recommend this

My first true daily driver car, very good for teenager due to small size,
however possibly too much power for the size and luxury trim that
