2000 Nissan Silvia Reviews, Pricing & Specs

12 months ago, I decided that the Baleno wasn't really cutting the mustard, so I began to look around for an S15. After missing out on a few NA Variettas (coz who doesnt want a convertible) I finally settled on a normally-roofed, turbo S15. Since owning the car, I have lost a front bar to wildlife, and re-kitted the car in a full trial kit. There have been many more mods performed, and still some to come. Overall, I rate the performance of the car rather highly, it accellerates hard once it has overcome low-down turbo lag (which will be hopefully reduced soon with a water-to-air intercooler), and can be punted through a corner with relative ease while still maintaining traction. Since buying the car, there have been a few squeaks and rattles, but nothing that a screwdriver and a can of graphite won't fix. The appearance of the car when I bought it was quite amazing, with the Vertex front and side skirts, which as since changed to the more busy Trial kit, which makes the car stand out more. Also, I have a full airbag suspension kit, which is yet to be installed, and should lower the car by around an inch, and allow for raising by an inch or more to avoid driveways and the like.Nov 10, 2009

Performance - acceleration 8/10, braking 9/10, handling 10/10 Build Quality - the 6speed is weak but other than that it's tuff Appearance - one of the most beautiful cars around ! Cost of Ownership - I would have paid much more to have a car that handles as well as this ! It's telepathic ! Fun Factor - 10/10 ! Just thinking of taking it for a drive makes my hart race, from the time I touch the door handle to the time I get out, I have a smile on my face from ear to ear !Oct 20, 2009
