2000 Buick Century Reviews, Pricing & Specs

As technically my first car I love it! It is very comfortable. I paid $800.00 for it in March 2011 with unknown mileage a gas gauge that didn't work and needing an O2 sensor. I fixed the odometer to find out that it had about 191,000 miles when i bought it. I cleared the O2 sensor code and it passed inspection. I drove it until mid august without having to do anything before replacing the O2 sensor because it was starting to get a hesitation problem. I got a new one and that went right away. In the summer the air conditioning still worked it just needed to be re-charged. (lost freon since it's higher miles and older which is normal) Then it blew ice cold but took a minute to get there since after all it does have a lot of miles. It has very good heat and does not take that long to warm up in the winter time. That combined with good tires this car is excellent in the snow! Plows through the foot we recently got like nothing. Overall this has been a very good car for me and has never not started and has never broken down. It is all original and it's all mine. I probably won't sell it and will probably drive it until it gets irreparable which won't happen because it's a Buick. Oh and for being a large car with a decent amount of weight it gets decent gas mileage as well. :)Jan 04, 2013

The car is very dependable, I have had it for a while now and it starts everyday. The only thing I have replaced is one tire and an air filter! However the 3100 V6 motor it has is known for intake manifold gasket and head gasket failure which kind of worries me. The car is super easy to drive though and floats down the road, and she has PLENTY of get up when you need it. The cloth seats are really comfortable too. and the car is very spacious, plenty of room for 5, but it will seat 6! The trunk is really big as well. The automatic headlights are awesome, and makes you kind of take the luxury for granted lol. Any ?'s feel free to ask. Sep 09, 2009

cette voiture a un swag d'enfer et marche dans la tabarnak de panne. Je la recommande aux amateurs de petites bombes qui sont down pour modifier un ridd ou aux boss qui veulent une belle américaine qui ballote juste a souhait. Le son surround est insane, les bancs sont dopefully dope. Fiabilité légendaire de renommée américaine 260 000 et encore neuve dans la boîte! Je changerai de voiture seulement pour une autre buick... ou une Ford, ou une Caddie, ou une PONTIAC(%) ou autre... mais tuka... ca donne graveJul 31, 2009

Overall, I am happy with my purchase despite it's short comings. I paid $3,900 for it with 68,000 miles so resale value isn't so great on this one. Performance is pretty sub-par for a V6 -- on par with most 4 cylinders today. Nevertheless, it is pretty quiet. Since buying it, have had to replace the AC compressor and the fuel pump but I think that has more to do with the way it was taken care of by the previous owner than with the car itself. Occasional issue with bucking during acceleration when the car shifts gears (tune-up did not fix it, hopefully not the transmission!). Style is pretty conservative as are all Buicks. Gas mileage leaves much to be desired. I usually average about 20 mpg's and sometimes as low as 17. I usually fill it with $35 worth of gas and get about 250 miles out of it.Jun 22, 2009

Well! It's a gramma car! but it gets great gas mileage, and has all the options I want except for leather and a sunroof! It has a pretty good stereo considering it's all factory. It's built fairly good, and it rides very nicely! The acceleration is great off the line but it seems to fall short once it gets to 60km/h. There are a few adjustments I would like to make to the cars appearance such as after market rims, and window tint! But that will come later. Over all considering what I need a vehicle for, it fits into my life almost perfectly!Oct 19, 2008

This car was excellent to learn driving with. It had good features all around except for its drab interior. Thanks to a good-quality car and a great instructor, I learned the proper way to drive. I'm also thankful that my high school offered a Driver Education course. After practicing my driving for some period of time, my first Driver's Permit was replaced by my first Driver's License.
