Definitely reliable & cheap parts
310,000 miles.. had to replace the alternator & radiator myself but other than that she’s still running lol just make sure to check the oil regularly since it consumes it.Jul 22, 2024

Though the body has fallen to bits, the engine still runs strong. He has taken it from Washington to Iowa and down to Arkansas many times. It still runs! He bought it used in 2005 and it has been through alot! It may not look pretty (especially front passenger fender (dents and rust) and the door handles may lock you in, snap off, or disolve in your hand, but the engine runs strong and doesn't stall, die, blow up, or even cough.May 06, 2014

Its just a regular car i want to make somethign more out of i just started by
changing engine and the rims then ive got the sterio system now its just the
suspension maybe lower it and get bigger rims and tune the engine a little

My sister handed down her car when she went off to college and, besides the basic
maintenance every car needs, this car hasn't needed a thing. A slight leak in the hydraulic power steering line is the only problem this 14 year old car has had. It
has run through many 'a tire but it's one of the funnest cars I've ever driven.May 14, 2012

small but very reliable, great on fuel economy. Doesn't look extrmely awsome but It's no where near a laughing stock. Interior's basic, but extremely easy to upgrade if you know what your doing. & Maintnance is never really an issue. ThanksJul 07, 2011

Great catch. Nothing kills these cars... Low maitenance. Great on gas and on overhead ... save on parts because you will not need them... Most components are new or newer, Breaks rotors tires battary ... Handling is responsive. No noises or sqweeksDec 08, 2010

awesum engine sound super acceleration after 60 km/h, beautiful chasis.

Performance: Reasonably nippy for a 1.6, brakes good, handles good on lowered suspension and 17" alloys.
Build Quality: Very Good, even air con worked well.
Appearence: Sits well on big wheels and low suspension with subtle TRD bodykit.
Cost of Ownership: Cheap to run.

Excellent family car but in a sports version...only about 1 of the 2 that came to Fiji...this baby had a extraordnary 110hp 5AFHE engine thats about the same as any corolla 5AFE engine but with a very aggressive air flow system which gives extra ordinary power to his car...
my personal best in this car was 175kmph even though this was a automatic..manual would have clocked 180+++..

love the reliability, but needs power locks and windows. great all around car for comfort, fuel economy. drives like a new car at 165000km. factory stereo with 2 speakers even sounds good still. everything works as new. we all should drive oneJun 07, 2010

Doesn't look like anything, doesn't perform like anything, but I put 160,000 miles on it in 6 years and never had to do more than oil and brakes. That's impressive reliability! It has no fun factor, and the back seat is abysmally small, but it's a commuter car, and in that regard it excels.May 11, 2010

It handled well but had a bit of body roll, the acceleration was brisk, 0-60 in under 10 secs. Nothing went wrong in my 3-4 years I had it. Solid reliable transport with a bit of Zip if you pushed it! Feb 19, 2010

it is automatic has a great acceleration hard breaks and amoderate handling
it needs a littile repair from out side
some work on the interior
1300 cc
and it is fun to drive

My aunt's car. It's a fine car - my only quibble is that the steering and pedals don't give you a whole lot of feedback. There's also no cruise control, but this is admittedly not much of an issue on the PEI roads where this car is driven. Strengths include an excellent factory stereo with an analogue volume control (so that there are theoretically infinite volume settings instead of set levels that are sometimes too far apart).May 19, 2009

Acceleration nice breaks make a very fun sound when applied. Solid body but colour wears out quickly. Interiors,exteriors are terrible, alot of dust due to off road driving. Gas consumption excellent and maintenace costs low. Manual, i love it.Dec 30, 2008

This is a very reliable car, it is hard to find another car as reliable as a Corolla. Usually when you think four door sedan, you think of three speeds slow slower and stop. Not so much with this car, in fact it is quite possible to leave that pack and go lone wolf. Which is where you will spend most of your time. 'Eg er mjög hrifinn af bílnum mínum því að hann er rúmgóður, sparneitinn, þægilegur í akstri og endingargóður. It runs great and has never given my any major problems, however it is not well put together as all the door handles except one are broken on the inside. It gets about 25 to 30mpg city and 35 to 40 highway. Doesn't have much get up and go. I would recommend this car to someone who doesn't like to spend a whole lot on gasOct 06, 2008

Owned this car for 10 years and nothing has broken. Performs well for a 10 yr old car. I plan to drive it another 5 to 10 years with basic maintenance. Very reliable car. I have heard from other reviewers that the paint is not that great. I would say not so much, my paint is still in very good condition. Jul 10, 2008

Toyota is a really great car actually, especially if you are going to buy a used one! They tend to have noisy heaters though, especially the older they get. And if your car is before 98 you will have a timing belt which needs to be changed around 150,000 km. 98 and up its a timing chain so those last forever.Jun 26, 2008

Crap all round... drum brakes at the back, drum brakes!!! Those were used in my mum's first
car.... No power at all, loaded with 5 people and you really have to rev that engine... which
didn't liked being revved...
