What owners say

AI Summary · 9 reviews

"Overall, reviewers have mixed feelings about the 1998 Ford Crown Victoria. Many owners appreciate its power, spacious interior, and handling, which they find enjoyable and fun to drive. However, several reviewers mention reliability issues, particularly with the transmission and build quality, along with somewhat disappointing gas mileage as downsides. Despite these concerns, the car's performance and size seem to win over many drivers."

Excellent first car. Guzzles the gas a bit, but quite safe and fun to drive. Rear wheel drive is phenomenal, the back end of this can slide out fairly easily. Can be hard to control in the rain or in gravel due to lack of traction control or a limited-slip rear differential, but still an excellent driver once you get the hang of it. Benefits of it being mistaken for a cop car include avoiding being pulled over and having people get out of your way on the freeway.

great performance, built tough, basically a pick-up in car form, gas mileage is decent for how big the car is, approx. miles per gallon highway, very very fun to drive, people get out of my way on the highway for obvious reasons

This car was once a NH state cop car. It was then put on auction just under 100K miles, where the cop who drove it daily bought it and put a few more thousand miles on it. He then sold it, and after another owner, I happened upon it. The interior has some mark ups from when the electronics (laptop etc.) was hooked up to the dash; still can see the old holes for when the cage was in there. It's got a green paint job with the chrome package, and I took off the rims so it looks even sharper. Handles like a dream; it gets 22-25 miles per gallon, if you cruise her right.
