1998 Chrysler Sebring Reviews, Pricing & Specs

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 1998 Chrysler Sebring have a love-hate relationship with this car. Many drivers appreciate its power, handling, and the enjoyment of cruising with the top down, especially in the summer. However, a number of reviewers express frustration with reliability issues, particularly electrical problems and the car's aging body. While the convertible experience is favored, maintenance concerns and breakdowns are cited as drawbacks."
The 1998 Chrysler Sebring convertible, unlike its 1998 Sebring hardtop brothers, is a Mitsubishi-engined Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Cirrus hybrid. The vehicle was designed to be a convertible from the ground up. Stronger frame bracing, a streamlined design, and excellent handling come together to create a car that really hugs the road as well as provides many years of trouble-free driving to its lucky owner.
July 25, 2007Handles well on all roads very reliable exterior a little on the worn side but my own fault intrior excellent condition. Veryy good on gas. And very fun to drive. Love driving in summer with the top down... THUMBS UP!!!
February 19, 2010I Love the mileage & Power from this little 2.4 V6 power plant. Put the top down & go Cruising. Plenty trunk space for all your camping gear. Maintenance cost is very low change the oil every 3000 mi coolant every 3 years Battery Brakes belts inside & out recently done. This car has a Lot of Pep Stops perfect even in a Panic stop, the ABS Really saves lives And with the performance tires you Can't hardly get them to slip even in wet weather. Front wheel drive Plows through snow like it isn't there.

April 30, 2013Handles like its on rails, pretty quick. This car is awesome in the summer. I can put the top down baby, and I have a pretty loud system (bump in the trunk). Gets about 20 miles to the gallon. The only downfall is the dear dent in the driver side fender.
June 26, 2008I cant tell anyone about any Sebring but mine. Mine has great pick up, is fast, and I I ove it. My favorite car always was the 1976 Chrysler Cordoba, until I bought this car. The only complaint I had was the fuel pump went out. Other than a stripped screw connection on the upper thermostat housing, the car still runs like a dream. I never would have called it a muscle car, but, I do now. I hope Ive helped.
November 12, 2021car runs and drives great, the body in general is showing alot of age a lot quicker than it should. The door stops have been replaced twice and the top motor once. The timing belt just gave up at 99,128 miles
October 24, 2007looks great, handles amazingly at high speeds, good acceleration
February 15, 2008Unless you want your car to spend more time in the garage than on the highway then I would not recommend this car to anyone. These cars have a history of brake, distributor, crank sensor, ball joint, Egr valve, and transmission problems....of course, cause its a chrysler. Well I bought this car last fall for $1,500 after I hit a deer with my stratus. It looked like a sharp car and the the body and interior where in excellent condition and to top it off it only had 115K, which i would later learn is way tooooo much for a chrysler to handle. Even since I bought this car I having been working on it. The worse part about it is when its having an issue it either doesnt give me an error code or some lame code like "multiple cylinder misfire" which could be just about anything. One morning I went to start it up and it was acting like it was out of gas and would not turn over...even though it had a full tank of gas. It turned out to be a bad relay on the firewall thats not even listed or shown in my Chilton or Hanes books. Then I got the infamous "multiple cylinder misfire" and swapped out everything in the ignition system (plugs wires, "by the way you have to take off the upper intake to get at the back three plugs/wires and alternator" distributor, and even the PCM "Powertrain Control Module..aka the computer" and nothing fixed the problem. So I took it into the shop and they had to keep it overnight and it turned out to be a sticking Egr Valve. So my advice is to not only stay away from this car but all chrysler vehicles in general. I can see why they went bankrupt and Ford didnt even after gettin all that bailout money.
June 29, 2009Love that its a convertible. Just had the interior refurbished and the top replaced due to me accidentally breaking the rear windshield. Gulps gas with the top down, but way worth the enjoyment you get out of it. You can put down chrysler products, but honestly this is probobly the best car ive ever owned
November 24, 2009its a green car with tinted windows, spoiler (not shown), loud exhaust and sound system, o and 17 inch rims and leather seats
