It's one of Ford's strongest ever Falcons produced. There are still plenty of them on the road and because of this, if anything does go wrong, it will be cheap to repair.
When it comes to Fuel consumption - it is fairly economical (I cant remember exact figures right now) - but realistically, you cant compare it to a Ford Focus/small hatchback car that does 5.5L/100km.
One thing I really love about the Falcon over it's rival - the Commodore - is the interior. They have always been more spacious, more comfortable and kinda like a lounge on wheels...
The Falcon is a Rear wheel driven vehicle, which also means rear wheel fun!!!

'96 Fairmont Ghia 5.0lt V8 with a Tickford upgrade pack.
Great performance and didn't use a lot of fuel, didn't lose any power by putting it onto gas.
Great car to drive, especially cruising into the country and towing a caravan.Dec 19, 2009

Falcon is a rear wheel drive car comes with a 6 cylinder Unleaded Multi-point injected 4.0L engine. thats why i like it.Exterior is looking good. But interior looks not perfect.. This car is good on dragging..This is not good on petrol as it got a bid engine. No high cost for maintenance.Normally falcon can drive up to 400,000 to 500,000 km on its mileageSep 23, 2009

great car, awesome performance. fuel economy slightly difficult to deal with sometimes. strong motor. needs new head gasket every 15 years or so. insurance is expensive - older car. very fun car to drive, dangerous even, sometimes in the wet. very loose tail sometimes due to torqueAug 08, 2009

Car is actually a Fairmont. Bought this car as a daily drive. Does everything it needs to do. Reliable, reasonably good on fuel given the size of it. Paint and body work is reasonably tidy given many others around the place are all oxidised and peeling back. Has generally been a well looked after car. Jul 12, 2009

Goes well enough although its incredibly thirsty. Ok if you have shares in Shell. about about 15 bucks for 100kms. So very very ugly, designed by a blind man on acid. just very very poo. Its pretty reliable tho. Handles a bit like a cross channel ferry in a storm.May 16, 2009

I plan on doing a bit of work to it to make it look a bit more respectable..im gonna buy some wheels..put a new exhaust on..get a new bonet..a new tailgate...get the seats re-upholstered..and get someone to kill all the rust and re-paint those areasSep 11, 2008

I brought this car over a year ago now apart from a few small things i have had no major problem. It preforms beautifully. Cheap to run on gas. Looks great ive added a bull bar and spot lights due to country driving. Its fun to drive. Handles dirt roads superbly and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a car.Aug 17, 2008

The Ford Falcon EF was a spanker of a car. 5 speed manual with trick out box and Tickford suspension this thing handled and drove like a dream. That was untill i hit a wall doing a buck twenty but the build quality was super and i survived in tack to live another day so if you have an old ford be thankful that if in a high speed accident you are safe Aug 10, 2008

* Brisk performer, 6 cylinder inline injected engine with Tickford performance options and a 5 speed gearbox. 4W Disc brakes haul this fairly large car to a more than acceptable halt. Wide 15" tyres, limited slip rear drive and good chassis dynamics get the XR6 around corners with little fuss and controllable oversteer.
* Solid and reliable with only few minor interior rattles, fairly tight for age.
* Sports saloon based on the standard Ford Falcon range. A sporty look with bonnet flutes, twin headlights and spoiler. Sports steering wheel, seats and dash, makes the cockpit feel the part.
* All round good value sports saloon thats a lot of fun to drive and own.Jul 29, 2008
