Bought it new and drove it for 160K miles. It was still going strong. The VR6 engine was great. Plenty of power/torque for a little car. Solid construction.
March 19, 2008Acceleration and top speed are quite impressive for a 2.0L, even the bottom end is really torquy. Only normal wear repairs have been needed in her 121,000 miles. Styling is awesome just the trim falls off because it was double sided tape from the factory. She gets 25-30 mpg but parts are kinda expensive due to being German. By far most fun car i have ever owned.
May 8, 2012These cars are reliable, fast, fun, economical, and cute. They can be left stock for an economical sedan for a family or they can be added onto as a fun sporty car for a young driver. The only down side to these cars is that there are a lot of them out there so it makes them less valuable. Cost of ownership is the cheapest I've had and it is the funnest car to drive that I have owned.

March 17, 2011Loved this car till its death. By far the best Vw ever owed. Great handling at fast speeds acceleration was far for having almost 300,000 miles on it. Would recomend for someone looking to get in to cars easy to mod
March 30, 2011Really nothing that I disliked other than the fact that the maintenance costs started to get out of control once the car broke 130,000 miles. I guess that's to be expected though when cars get that old. Other than that, I adored that car, and was heartbroken when I got rid of it.
January 20, 2012The jetta is a fantastic car. VW's are all good cars. I have owned alot of VW's. VW's are very well built cars that last along time. Iv'e had beetles that lasted as long as my Jetta. It's a shame that they quit making the beetle.

December 24, 2007I got this jetta from a friend. Its a base model with none of the trimmings. Its rusty and slow. But it gets 30mpg and it a lot more fun to drive then i expected. If i was gonna get another jetta it would have to be a TDI or VR6 model.
August 26, 2010Ive owned a jetta for a long time.. love the cars.. expensive to fix but worth it.. Go Euros. Fun Car. you can mod it up. make it look nice.. drive it like a madman or drive it like your grandma. Cool little things you can do.. to make it your own.
June 5, 2010This one had 156,000 miles on the clock and it still pulled pretty strong, until I roasted the clutch. I kinda dragged this car downhill, woops.
