Overall the coupe has been a great car, I'm very sad to see the age begin to show. Driving to work one day on the while recently I noticed the drivers-side headlight seemed to be moving. It turned out to to be the headlight cover which rotten completely off. Mar 21, 2013

I was amazed that this little blender car was so smooth-but when i hit the gas she took off like a jet found it for 2300,00 I feel like a kid again I love her she is beautifull,easy to drive proud to own oneMar 23, 2011

Quicker than the Neon I had and good on gas. Needed trans replaced less than
1000 miles after i got the POS at about 97k mi. Pretty good styling but the the
plastic body panels make it a death trap. was fun to drive, burned 2 quarts of oil
every 1800 miles other bogus repairs needed Feb 01, 2011

i hated this car. slow. blew oil its made out of plastic i meen come on. i got it for free but i had to put a ton of money in to it. im happy i sold it. dont buy. it did get good gas miles tho.Oct 31, 2010

Powerless little 1.9l DOHC engine, clunky 5-speed transmission, burned more oil than fuel, and was made out of at least 2/3 plastic. Was a good beater if you didn't mind having to check the oil at every stop to make sure it wasn't empty yet.Sep 11, 2010

0-60 in 9.5 secs, best run was a 8.64 after mods. Handles decent. In 6 months i needed to fix two items but its quality is pretty good. Exterior is girlish and paint is chipped on spoiler, interior is low tech but sound system is was ok until I upgraded it. Gas mileage is about 25-35 mpg depending on my driving. The 5 speed manual tranny is fun to use.Mar 25, 2010

love this car its boring, its small, it has terrible pick up but it gets amazing gas mileage and i have over 250k on it and havent had to replace anything major just keep up with basic maint and i have a feeling it will run forever :)Jan 07, 2010

I bought 'Goldie' new in 11/94. 5-speed manual. She had great power - I could pass going up hill! Ride was a little rough, but what a car! A huge pothole did her in last Feb. She had over 202,000 mi and still ran at full power. Body held up, too. Best car I ever owned.Oct 16, 2009

This car is an extremely fun vehicle to drive. It is very light and low so it handles well and the 5 speed and twin cam engine give it some good power. Visually its a very sharp looking car, with alloy wheels, flip-up headlights, spoiler, and low stance. It's interior is tight and some materials are cheap, but that doesnt bother me very much, except when passengers whine about the lack of space in the backseat. It gets amazing gas mileage (35 mpg!) and has been reliable as long as i've owned it.Oct 08, 2009

The Saturn SL1 is a more economical version of the SL2, with about 110 HP and 38 MPG(EPA). It simply isn't very pretty, but with an amazing tolerance to punishment, this car is extremely fun to use at the autocross.

Bad Ass little car, the motor, I mean I put that thing through some wear and tear and the only thing i ever had to change in three years was the starter and the cluck but that was going out when I got the car... Was a gas sipper to boot before all the great gas mileage cars started coming out. It could take speeds and curvy roads like a champ... just wish it was more attractive to look at.Sep 03, 2009

its not the greatest, but it gets me from A to B. The driver side mirror is busted... and it used to leak but I sealed it. It's EXCELLENT on gas mileage. Whish is one of the only good perks. Other than it has nice ice cold air conditioning.Sep 01, 2009

I dont drive it right now. My fiancee will be driving it as soon as we can afford it. But he drives other Saturns and he love them alot. He would recommend a Saturn to anyone. They get great gas mileage and drive nice. They last a long time.Aug 31, 2009

I bought this car for $700 to commute in instead of driving the corvette to work. I guess its ok and gets me from place to place. If you could envision what crap would be if it were a car, it would be a saturn for sure. Jun 30, 2009

average 30 to 32 mpg, quick car for only having a 4 Cyl, trans went shortly after i got it, since then only minor issues, very fun to drive, handles good, plastic body panels (doesn't rust), decent inner and outer styling, not a lot of interior room, overall good little car.Nov 30, 2008

First, the design of the car is about the only thing i like. But when it comes to performance, it falls short. The transmission slips, the engine leaks oil. It has about 155K on it, and gets 32MPG. The cab of the car is to short for a 6'2' person. The seats in the car are made of cheap leather, while the dash board, and door panels are all plastic. If you were going to buy one, don't.

My car runs great, never had any problems with it except age. And by age I mean the power locks don't want to work sometimes, and the two front power windows are basically dead. The back two work just fine though. Outward appearance is great except alittle front end damage, nothing bad, just scapes and a one or two dings. My fault on that. Fun to drive? I would say yes, beats the other cars I have driven in the past. It's pretty smooth, shifts easily. Other than that, it's a pretty good ol' car.

What I drive currently. Runs well, probably cause it was 45K miles lol. Very good on gas. Can really cut sharp turns. Acceleration sucks. Very cramped inside yet then again it can be wasily accessible when parking. Overall, something I look at as a good first car until I get hopefully a Charger ;)Apr 04, 2008

It was slow. It stopped slowly. It handled horribly. It accelerated slower than a 92 ford taurus. it was waaaay too small / for short people. the TAAT valve body was defective, eventually leading to the end of me having this car. Mar 23, 2008

I loved this car! I got it in 2003 from its original owner. Drove it for 3 years with no problems at all...then I let an ex drive it.

it was a good car over-all. ran fairly well, just make sure to get that oil changed every 3,000 miles. fairly easy to find after-market parts if you want to customize one. definitely had great gas mileage, along with all right performance for a 10+ year old 4 cylinderMar 18, 2008

nothin special about this car except it was cheap. in fact i had the motor explode on me after 113,000 miles it actually shot pistons through the hood. it looked and felt cheaply made mainly because it was however it did get great gas mileage and it did shift very well Mar 17, 2008
