this is a good car for a novice grease monkey with a few tools and basic mechanical knowledge, but if you have to pay someone else to check the oil for you, then this is not the car for you. the 4 speed automatic transmission has a bad reputation for failing usually due to people using the wrong fluid and the older style parts witch have been revised for rebuilds. the 2.0 dohc engine is good as long as keep up with the service intervals. for some reason, most of the parts houses say "part not available" when trying to find parts, however, parts for a Mitsubishi eclipse and other dsm cars are usually in stock and some are an exact mach. (not sure why). good car but make no mistake, you will have to get your hands greasy here and there to keep it on the road.Nov 16, 2014

Like the style of this year. Every time I think about getting her painted she breaks. I'm thinking about getting a paint job on her. Getting pretty old, not many on the read. The new model has no personality like this one.Apr 11, 2014

would never buy another one but it was fun when it ran. 0-60 depended on how well you could hit the gears. huge back seat for a 2 door and lots of truck space, it looked like a dodge neon on steriods,dont know much else to say just trying to get my forty words Nov 30, 2011

no dislikes very good gas milage very smooth ride can find many aftermarket parts for it not sure what else to say its prolly one of the best cars ive bought so far breaking is good accelerates quick handeling is awsome.Feb 02, 2011

I love everything, and dis-like nothing. this car is completely built and fast as hell. 400+ horse power. ran the 1/4 mile in 12.9 @ 15 psi, but now it runs 26 PSI. this is break your neck fast. never lost a race in it yet. hopefully no lambo's try to race me haha.Oct 23, 2010

I like my car. I bought it two months ago for 900 bucks. So far, I've only had to fix one rear strut on the car, and that was my fault. I hit a pothole. The Part was only 45.00 to fix. My car is all leather, and I'm not looking foreward to driving it in the snow, but I am glad I bought it. It's the best car I've ever owned.Dec 08, 2009

The fact that it's automatic is a major put down but being a car from the mid 90's it performs well handles quick turns and provides an overall exciting experience. I have driven this car much harder than it possibly should have been but it's stood up to the challenge wonderfully.Aug 16, 2009

it was my father's car, got to drive it a bunch of times. great pick up for a 2.2l, 4 banger. basically it was a toned down eclipse or an fto for the americas. was loads of fun to drive, although dad was with me most of the time,lol.Aug 03, 2008

everything that you don't want to go wrong went wrong, and to replace it was HORRIFIC! the radiator rusted and it ALWAYS over heated, one of the fans broke and cost almost $600 to replace, the head gasget blew, burned ALOT of oil, the sway bars broke in two and to fix them was impossible due to rust... the interior would break all of the time. the windows were horrible becuase they lacked a frame.....Mar 25, 2008

Mine has had some problems. They are prone to oil leaks (main seal) and have faulty ball joints. They are nice and cheap though and are pretty much completely interchangeable with Eclipse parts.Feb 25, 2008
