Performance - Nothing really exciting from the 16v ecotec engine that is currently in it at the moment. This is to be replaced soon by either a Red Top C20XE or the Turbo C20LET. Build Quality - Seems to be really solid, nothing fell off or unclipped itself apart from one or 2 things that are worryingly easy to pull off on the dash. Appearance - i personally love the looks of the calibra before the facelift model with the V grille. The one i had to chance the wheels as the old ones you can see had degraded so much they let the tyres down. I have lowered the car too by 60mm, as you can see it looks a lot more sportier. Drive - The drive is fantastic from this car. very comfortable before i had it lowered and still is to a certain extent. The handling comes into a different league now and is superb for a front wheel drive car. The one thing that does let it down, is when travelling at a high speed 70mph+, there is play in the steering wheel and doesnt feel too confident. Costs - Currently i am acheieving around 35mpg combined, and around 40 - 42mpg on motorways. This is a really good figure from a 2ltr engine of this age, as it is the same mpg i was having from my 2005 sporthatch astra. The insurance group for this car is 14, which is initially quite high, however i am 21 years old with 3 years no claims and its a very reasonable £500 a year. Parts are also very cheap, as i had fitted a full set of drilled and grooved Mintex brake discs, with mintex pads for only £150. Tyres are cheap on these wheels too, only £25 each for the basic ones if thats what you prefer.Jul 27, 2009

Performance - Not bad for a 2.0l 16v engine, does 0-60 in 8 seconds! Build Quality - Just found out i have a corroded wheel, new ones going on with new tyres, thats the only thing gone wrong apart from head gasket, so need a new engine lol! Appearance - Not bad looks, getting it done up though, got new wheels going on , getting it lowered 40mm with new Bilstein springs and shocks, bad boy bonnet lip getting smoothed in, and full reiger kit to go on in a few months. Cost - Does around 30-35mph on the 2.0l 16v engine, however the new C20LET 2.0l 16v Turbo engine will do around 25mpg. Fun - Incredibly fun when you put your foot down, cant wait for it to be lowered with the new wheels, then will be fun throwing it into corners!Jan 06, 2009
