I absulelty loved my geo metro. I could do all kinds of things in that thing! I could go have a brake sessino in the back roads and not worry about tearing my tires up becuase they were only $50 each! and gas wasn't any worry even though it was up pretty high when i owned it. But all in all if you can find a geo metro for $600 like i did then buy it! but make sure your frame by the a arms are solid or you might have a nasty meeting with a ditch.Dec 16, 2014

Fun little car that I look like Mr. Incredible in. this car gets awesome gas mileage and will rock your world, with it's 3 cylinder engine, all the way to its hatchback. This car is an amazing piece of work. xDDAug 05, 2010

Apr 24, 2010

My wife (then girlfriend) wanted to buya car after
graduating university. I suggested there were lots of great
used cars, but she wanted something new "with a warranty."
And so the Metro was bought. Even she admits now it was a
stupid choice. I recall it cost $9400.00 in 1994. It was green
with an aweful beige interior. Std transmission.
I hated this car from the get go. I am a bigger guy (6ft, 285
lbs). When we drove in this car together our shoulders
would touch. It had nothing going for it and lots to dislike.
Performance was poor. It had a lot of zip in first gear, but
that was about the end of it. I believe the motor may have
been from a sewing maching, I'm not sure. I think it was
only three cylinders.
Build quality was atrocious. You could hear every single
pebble hitting the undercarriage. Definitely no insulation in
this car. One winter I closed the hood on it and a large piece
of plastic from the head light assembly snapped off. GM
wouldn't replace it under warranty (remember the missus
wanted the peace of mind) as it was considered "wear and
tear". Nice. Anyway. If you looked at the vinyl on the ceiling
the wrong way it would rip. Did I mention that i hated this
car.
It looked like a big green roller skate and the handling was
about as good. For such a small car it sure anted to plow
ahead in turns.
It did have economy on it's side. It was cheap to insure and
operate. But that's because it wasn't worth a darn. We did
not have many mjor repairs, but my wife is easy on her
vehicles and we traded it after 6 years.
This car was not fun in any way, shape or form.
I feared for my life if we were to ever be in an accident.
There were no airbags then. I will give it that with the rear
seats folded down you could actually haul a fair bit of stuff
in it. That's about the only nice thing I can say about a car
that didn't even come with a radio. It also was equpped with
power nothing as a sandard feature.
If you want a small, economical people mover, I think you
could do much better. Nov 14, 2008

An amazing gas saver car. It's hard to get replacements for parts because they tend to be made in random countries. Down side: it doesn't go fast... at all. I got it to 80 once... and that was screaming the engine, downhill, with the wind at my back. It's great for around town driving, though. And like I said, an amazing gas saver car. I would definitely recommend this car for new drivers, or commuters. It's not exactly going to protect you in an accident, considering it's a lunchbox on wheels, but it's mostly dependable.Aug 17, 2008

Awesome gas milage. great sound system. Started driving this due to the clutch going out in my Escort. Has the system from my escort. Slays deer, has Suzuki Swift front end grafted on due to deer hits and a sister hitting a car. 40 mpg highway, 58 mpg with subs turned on. kinda lacks power due to a little 3 banger but 5spd and handbrake make up for it. Aftermarket Suzuki rims, upgraded from 12s to 13s.Mar 21, 2008
