In a car that weighs 1200kg, it is a little rocket, god in stock form but I have a w10 SR20DET in mine and a GT2871r turbo.
The little thing flies.
The nissan pulsar is gaining more and more aftermarket support and is getting easier and cheaper to modify.
would definately reccommend one.Jul 03, 2009

its the Gti-R... and not that ugly thing with the pop up lights you see bums drive around urban areas. lol.
Very responsive for a 16 year old car. high 13s on the 1/4 mile but using slicks. For something that looks like a girly hatchback it is pretty fast! Though the power dies down around 6k rpm's. Quicker than a 350z or an Eclipse. Standard brakes were pretty bad, so i upgraded my pads to Endless which are much improved. Feels like i'm driving a go-kart. for a small car, got descent leg room in the back seat. but trunk space suffers.Jun 24, 2009

Nissan's undisputed monster hatchback!
Running 220bhp, Max Speed of 150mph and runs 0-62mph in 5.5secs, and thats just factory tuned.....
The GTI-R was based on a rally-built hatchback which competed in the WRC during the 90's, and later released as a road car. The general setup shows its rally-bread ethics with its massive turbo-intercooler system placed on the top of the engine and it's trademark air-vent on the bonnet. Also utilising a 4WD system, the GTIR handles the road very well at high speeds and accelerates at an exceptional rate.
Considering this car was built and last produced within the 90's the GTIR will easliy give modern day hot-hatches a run for their money.
STOCK SPECIFICATION:
Engine: 2 litres, 16 valve DOHC (SR20 DET)
Induction: Garrett T28 Turbocharged/ intercooler
Drive: 50/50 split, 1st Generation Attesa 4WD system
Transmission: 5 speed manual
STOCK PERFORMANCE STATS:
Performance: 220bhp / 210lb per ft
0-60mph: 5.5 secs
Max Speed: 150mph
Pros:
* Overall power and tunning is easily improved with the use of boost pressure and engine upgrades.
* Handling
* Acceleration / top speed
Cons:
* Weak clutch
* Best to change intercooler setting for better performance
* Imported vehicle which requires ordering parts from abroad if you wanna save money (UK prices too expensive)
MY GTi-R'S STATS:
Maximum Power: 300bhp
Maximum Torque: 290lb / ft
0-62mph: 4.5 secs
Maximum Speed: 155mph

havent been serviced for like a year and the fact that
it's an auto, but it's my first car so it's ok, acceleration
is prob better than other cars at it's price, left front
wheel makes weird noise when i turn right at low
speed, best look is from the front, gas is not too good
at the moment i think in need of service and tune up,
overall an ok car to driveDec 05, 2008

Performance – acceleration, braking, handling
Power to weight ratio not much is able to keep up, Xtreme lightened flywheel & button clutch, Garrett T28 Turbo, coilovers, swaybar, Kakimoto 3" straight through exhaust, AWD all the time handling is amazing etc etc
Build Quality – Good for a car of its age, major repairs were things that were being upgraded for more performance
Appearance – Doesnt have the sleek styling of the GTR, but the little brother makes up for that in sleeper style looks with an angry smile as it bears down on you
Cost of Ownership – Expensive, its high performance
Fun Factor – Ive driven a 911 Turbo, HSV commodore, 200SX, I woudnt trade it for any of them. Funnest car to drive ever.Oct 15, 2008

2.0 16v Turbocharged 4wd
365hp
0-60 in 4 secs
0-100 in 10 secs
Got 147mph with plenty to go before I decided I didn't want to die and stopped.
Will out accelerate most things, handles really well.
150 miles to a tank :(
Tends to go wrong often and always costs £1k to fix

this has been my ride since 1999 when I sold my Gemini. She never misses a beat and I know I can jump in her and drive her anywhere I want to go.currently has 221,000kms on the clock and still has plenty of life in her yet.She is also a good workhorse when she has to tow the trailer.I wont be parting with her anytime yet due to the mortgageJan 05, 2008
