1993 Dodge Dakota Reviews, Pricing & Specs

What owners say
"Overall, drivers are quite happy with their 1993 Dodge Dakota, praising its durability and performance, especially for off-road adventures. Many appreciate its handling and power, particularly in the V8 version. However, some owners noted issues with rust and various mechanical problems, which can be off-putting. The truck is seen as a solid option for work and recreational use, though some wish for better fuel efficiency and ground clearance."
It was in excellent condition and 4x4 with a manual transmission it was perfect for me.
June 25, 2025Features, average trucks price little high but that's the market, moon roof missing, compared to guess S-10 Chevy.
June 25, 2025Handles great,13 yrs and rattle free,225,000miles & sounds like it just came off the assembly line, except for tire noise (road tread is quieter)

December 14, 2006Paid too much, got a beater/woods truck. For all that, it performed very well overall, gas mileage aside. Never got stuck or lost confidence while driving it; took a good beating in my hands and came out ok. Numerous mechanical issues with it when I bought it, but nothing out of the ordinary for a roughly handled decade old truck. Heating and turning circle were both below average, but overall performance was good---only vehicle I wish I still owned.
April 6, 2008The truck is in great shape. That said, it failed inspection on 5 points: * horn doesnt work * motor mounts need changed * rear bumper rusted through * parking brake out of adjustment * missing 2 bed bolts A couple of those are nits, a couple arent. Cost to repair will be over $1k, bringing the price closer to ~$4.5k, when its all said & done. Additional nits: * gas gauge doesnt work * cruise control broken (buttons broken off steering wheel) All that said, the truck is in great shape for a 30-year-old vehicle and runs pretty good. Overall happy with the purchase
April 25, 2024The first one I owned was a 92 had over 250,000 on it and when I had to sell it it was up over 300,000 miles and I still see it running around town.I just bought a 93 Dakota with only 125,000 but as expected with any used vehicles it needs some TLC.
September 1, 2007It's a solid truck, ours has a 5.2 V8 and has more then enough power to move it where it has to go. the one bad thing is it sits too low and can get hung up in snow alittle too easy
January 22, 2009I bought my truck with a 144 thousand on it with no transfer case in it. It was a damn good buy in my mind cuz for a 93 dakota with a 144 on it and not a spec of rust on it, its doin damn good so far. Haven't had it all that long but its a great work truck and a great hunting truck.
November 30, 2008My son wanted a truck for his first vehicle. We ended up helping him by a 1993 Dodge Dakota 8' bed. He loves the truck and it has not rust and it offers alot of options for him to upgrade. No doubt that we have been enjoying findings things for his truck via ebay or salvage yards and parts shops.
April 6, 2008quick little truck, did what I needed it to do
