i like the look of the car it has lots of power under the hood with the 3.1L V6 fun just driving it in the summer it is really loud with the magnaflow exhaust. im happy with the 500km i get per tank and the car is old enough so i can do my own work on it when needed.Aug 21, 2012

I'm the 2nd owner & had it 9 years now with no
problems at all. Not a hot rod but averages 30-
35 mpg on trips. 102,000 miles on the 2.0 engine

I am the second owmer.Bought mine in February 1999.Next month will be 12 years I've had this GREAT-PONTIAC.The 4 cylinder runs like a champ.Mine is red,i call it "THE RED-BARON"PONTIACS ARE GREAT!I have my anti-abortion stickers all around the car and my belief is,they help with the longevity. where to start with this one... lets see dash rids halfway up the windshield, absolutely gutless, no good at drifting, top end speed of 140 km/h, and for a small car the gas mileage sucked horribly. i'm a gmc guy but i need to ask what the hell was gm thinking cause that car was an epic failOct 31, 2010

the car was a great first car, i used to beat up this car all the time and it took everyhting i had and everything my two brothers had before the transmission started to slip. i think that is the reason they went and made the sunfire so they had a car that broke down all the time instead one the bird which didnt.Aug 23, 2010

the performance was sluggish but a great car none the less. the build quality was great you could not hurt it i would go mudding in it from time to time and just beat it up. it would not stop, appearance was not to be desired for but it was a good first car. gas milage was great. approx 30 to the gallon. fun factore was not much but i did love the system and teh upgraded cd player i put in there.Jul 13, 2010

It accelerates ok. lots of rust on the doors. i had to replace the trans-coolerlines, power steering line and all 4 brake lines, the catalytic converter. it has a rummble with its cherry bomb glasspack muffler. it sounds good. but don't buy oneMar 30, 2010

Un vrai petit char sport pour l'année avec beaucoup d'accélération. Il a un petit look de Camaro qui parait surtout en couleur 2 tons. Il boit beaucoup d'essence jusqu'à 14 litres au 100 km en ville. Il y a beaucoup de place à l'intérieur assez pour 4 personnes comfortables.Mar 22, 2010

I can explain this car in 3 words...ZERO TO SIXTY... It was like a lightning bolt. I would tell people i never got a speeding ticket in it because it was too slow, when in reality...it was too fast. when i saw blue lights flashing i instantly dropped it back to second and stomped the pedal (it was an automatic) and hauled off before they could make a move.Sep 12, 2009

It sucks. i would rather have a chevy pickup truck. i have had to replace the trans cooler, power steering, and all 4 brake lines on it. i just rolled over 100,000 miles. it has rust on the doors and a home made patch over the rear wheel tub. DON'T BUY ONE.Aug 18, 2009

I bought the car when i turned 16. 4 cylinder 4 door bright red. the car had power locks and everything else was manual. main complaint would have to be how badly the car rusted out. I had a rust spot in the back left door so bad that i could reach my hand in it and push the back panel off. It got rear ended and then about 2 months later T-boned which totaled the car for good. But in the year i owned the car, it was fun. it got good mileage and was fun in the snow. pull the e brake and that car just slid all over the place. good first carJan 26, 2009

À 500$, c'est clair que c'était une bonne affaire!
Je l'ai eu pendant 2 ans, ce qui fait... pas cher par année!
2-3 petites choses à réparer, mais fallait s'y attendre.
Construction solide, pièces Motomaster peu dispendieuses, consommation raisonnable, couleur attrayante et j'en passe.
Et puis, je peux dire que, comme tout le monde, j'ai eu un Cavalier/Sunbird! Jan 22, 2009

A compact car with decent performance and good value for the money. The car is pretty dependable and I haven't had too many major problems with this car so far. Only have about 90,000 miles on it, and I'm still driving it.May 09, 2008

The '92 Sunbird coupe with the six and the five-speed is a seriously underrated sporty car. Because the car is so light, the six makes it fly down the road (with some serious FWD torque steer for the careless). Great exhaust note too. As a plus, the V-6/five-speed gets surprisingly good fuel economy, particularly at higher speeds (33 mpg at 75-80 mph).
It is not a car for large people, particularly getting in and out (those above six feet may want to put a hand on the ground when they get out). The driver's seat is a tight fit.
One irritant is the automatic door locks -- perhaps nice for a four-door, not so for a two-door. On automatics the doors lock when shifting into drive, but on sticks they lock at 8 mph, which means that every time you want to get out, you have to unlock the doors. (This was GM's way of avoiding either the $%^&%$!@&!!! motorized seat belts or air bags.)
Long-term ownership issues include rust at the bottom of the doors.
All in all, a very fun car to drive.
