The first of my modified pickups, Toyota before TopGear proved how good they where. Modified nearly everything and it was a real headturner everywhere it went.
It died a painful death on the motorway due to a lack of respect (and oil) from its ownerApr 30, 2010

great off road but could do woth an 8 or at least a turbo or supercharger however it is brilliant off road with the live front axle and great wheel articulation it goes nearly anywhere just needs some more aggressive tyresAug 17, 2009

tough ute, goes most places you want it, very dependable and reliable. handles like any 4x4, heavy. but its fun anyway, goes offroad no worries, carries bikes, good shooting ute. cheap to fix most times. just a good tough ute.May 17, 2009

The performance is not so good, 114hp.
The quality is very good, It's a Toyota.
With biger wheels it looks OK.
The gas mileage is not the best, 15 l100 km.
It is realy fun to go off-road with it.May 10, 2009

i love the fact that everyone talks down on the hilux but my beast went EVERYWHERE!!! it never misses a beat and if it wasnt so gutless i would keep it. it is not so great on fuel but fill it up with bp fuel and it lasts alot longer, this car is great to drive just has no power.Aug 11, 2008

Another great 4x4 from Toyotas best days. Before they stopped building work trucks and made boulevard cruisers instead. Basic, solid and reliable mine was lifted and modified. Unique and popular. fairly good on gas easy to live with. would have another one in an instant. Needs some modifications to be perfect but don't they all?Aug 10, 2008
