Amzing car to drive espcially for its age, Probaly still one of best cars out there today for its aero dynamics, capable of 160mph as standard. Which for a 4 cylinder 2.0 16v engine is amazing. Can be fairly costly to run, all though i did own it when it was around 13 years old. Now its 1 cheap amazing car, would recommend to any who is after a cheap fast solid car with quality much higher than most brand new cars espceically french and british cars. The audi 80 coupe is a must have at some point in your life. Made to go sideways.. Bothways :-)Jun 03, 2012

being nearly 20 years ol it takes a bit of work and money to keep it all running smoothly but inevitably its all worth it when you take it out for a drive, the V5 and aftermarket exhaust make a lovely sound, and the car looks stunning when cleaned up properlySep 25, 2010

I bought this car with the intention of having a V8 engine installed. In fact, I even went as far as buying the V8 for it, but never got the job done. In the meantime I drove it for many miles and had a great time with it. It was faster than it had any right to be after all the [hard] miles accrued over the years. It still gave respectable fuel mileage too.Apr 09, 2010

Aside from the atrocious two-piece bumpers the car is
gorgeous. I think the B4 hood update is a good mod, and
getting some euro-bumpers REALLY helps this car look new
to the point that you'd think it was a 2000+ car. The
downside of the car is the underpowered 7A engine. The
infamous 5 cylinder engine is capable of a LOT of power,
but the 20v N/A engine is pretty weak. It really needs a
turbo. Otherwise it's a fantastic car. The AWD is great,
the locking rear differential is fun, and the car is a tank.
I've run it through 5 rally-x events and gone ice racing
several times. I've beat people with twice the horsepower,
rally tires, and rally suspension. It's a great car.Feb 24, 2010

I hate the fact its still not on the road!!!!! I always seem to be working on other peoples cars instead of trying to get the S2 done. Think i can see a new years resolution coming,Along with the try to stop smoking one that i never seem to carry out ha haSep 30, 2008

I can't say much about performance or fun factor, and for a particular reason, I drove this car at the Zolder circuit. It was a slalom excecise car. At first, that seemed a piece of cake, especially with an automatic gearbox (which worked very smoothly). When I got into the car however, the steering wheel mechanism was modified to make the car turn right when you turn the wheel to the left and vice versa. Excellent! The goal of this excercise was to make people aware of their (primarily bad) habits at the wheel. Very instructive!Sep 11, 2008

Its smooth very quiet and torquey.
Its not fast unless you deck the throttle and does disappoint a little until 3000 rpm.
Its non Quattro so gets more power down though!
It has Air Con and the rare pre select sunroof.Having both of these is virtually a one off.
Shes one of six in the world in Lime Pastel and looks the bizzo after a good old Zymol!Aug 28, 2008

Ive owned my audi for 3 months now and what can i say it hasnt missed a beat, many other £750 cars would have fallen to pieces by now but even with over 150k miles on the clock the 2litre 8valve engine just keeps on going with no rattles, leaks or smoke!! the handling is ok but is more set up for comfort rather than banging around a track. and as for fuel economy its about the same as diesiel at 45-50mpg depending on the length of the journey.
One of these over jap crap any day!!!Jun 14, 2008

This audi coupe is great. Superb build quality, good look's and reasonable performance. The 5 cylinder engine sounds great and can be quick. Good fuel economy. Body work is great with no rust issues. Orginial speedline alloy wheels. Impressed so far but we'll see lolMar 10, 2008

If I hadnt destroyed mine, I would have done an engine swap, brake upgrade, lug pattern upgrade, wheel upgrade, lighting upgrade and I would have had to redo some of the wiring.Jan 04, 2008

I loved this car, it was a blast to drive in all weather thanks to quattro awd.
However, these cars are getting pretty old and they are very rare so finding parts
is a pain in the ass. As they age, the electical systems crap out and they end up
being more of a headache than they are worth. But, if you've got money to dump in to
a car for the track, this is a great platform to start with. Step on the gas and your smile
will be in proportion to how hard you accelerate. The mid range acceleration on this car
(40-85mph) is blistering, but it is a bit doggy off the line. It handles beautifully, but has a
bit of body roll due to its hefty 3300lb curb weight. Overall, a really fun, good looking
ride, I just wish I had one during the early 90s when they were new.Dec 27, 2007
