1990 Toyota Pickup Reviews, Pricing & Specs
What owners say
"Owners of the 1990 Toyota Pickup generally love its dependability and performance, particularly praising the legendary 22RE engine for its durability and efficiency. Many enjoy the strong pulling power and the truck's handling. However, a common complaint is the issue with rust, especially on older models, which can lead to extensive repairs and maintenance costs over time."
the 22re engine is legendary. Bulletproof.
April 5, 2008I have loved the toyotas with 22r engines. Last forever. The body rusts way fast though.
November 10, 2007This truck is a great truck to drive and is a very good build block, it has many ways you can go with this truck. Since it is a toyota that gives u plenty of motor options to swap into like the infamous 2JZGTE or if u like bagged trucks like me then there are alot of things you can go with to get the perfect setup

September 12, 2009I love its dependability , but hate the amount of rust on it ! What can you expect for an 18 year old truck with 481 thousand km's on it ?? I have owned it since October 2000 , and on average it costs me about a grand a year to keep on the road ! I've changed the cab and front sheetmetal once , had the rearend rebuilt and last fall I changed the box and fixed the frame to get it to pass inspection ! I get better milieage than my mother who owns a new Saturn VUE , its a blast to drive , handles like its on rails and stops on a dime !
August 20, 2008great four wheel drive. good gas mileage. very reliable. its four wheel drive performance is good. this truck runs for ever. easy to maintain. awesome brakes. its fun to drive. its build quality is good. i love this damn truck
November 21, 2009Mine is a 4cyl, 4x4 5 speed. It has the SR5 package, bucket seats with lumbar support, upgrade cloth door panels, 3 spoke tilt wheel and gauge package but not much else... The 22RE engine is great for a 4cyl but it's still a 4cyl! Other than the acceleration, the performance is great!
October 16, 2009originally got for winter vehicle, but ended up selling it before winter. Strong 3.0 V6 w 5 spd. good pulling performance. ok mileage for a truck. not very quick, minimal repairs needed other than fixing rusted body parts, sort of fun to drive for a truck. had 4 in lift and 33 in tires
