Note that the 1990 has the higher power M119 engine. This is because the injectors are fully open. In a year or so power was reduced, due US emissions regs, and the injectors do not fully open. Also, this M119 is the closed deck design. In about 1993 the blocked was modified to an open deck casting. Potentially the closed deck block is stronger. There are details elsewhere on both these engine aspects.May 18, 2023

i love this car the best i had ! i had vacuum leaks done and idle control valve,cam shaft sensor replaced and the car runs like new ! very strong it feels like your in a space shuttle. my advise if your contemplating purchasing one do it! Nov 03, 2011

It was my first Mercedes and first convertible... It was a great car to drive (not super comfortable for long rides due to the seating position). The gas mileage is not excessive for a V8 however the maintenance costs are pretty high. Jul 02, 2011
