1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Reviews, Pricing & Specs

My 2nd car. Got if free, so that was a bonus. Engine sucks fuel pretty bad, but solid engine. Muffler was missing so had to get a new one. Otherwise, very reliable. Only problems were the door handle froze and broke when trying to open on a cold day. Easy to drive, and after a new stereo and speakers it was a job to ride in. Bench seat was great for more people, but not much storage in the car. Big trunk. Not a looker, but the 80's were...the 80's.Mar 03, 2015

performance isnt that great,how ever if u cut the muffler off and add a short ram,the acceleration gets better than stock.break sucks as does handling,but your not going to be able to "hug" the road in this type of car,there is a way to fix this tho.get smaller tires and some 3" lowering springs and you will beable to hug the road better then you would if you have the stock tires on or as a donk... the build quality is great with mine.appearance isnt great right now,but working on it.im about to smoke out the headlights/taillights and run blue HDS headlights.going to mod me a body kit for it.gas mileage suck when im driveing it in town..maintenance isnt bad,just the norm.love taking it though the mud and around corners!Aug 25, 2010

I owned an '89 model (brown in color, inside and out) from 1997 - 2002. It came equipped with a 173 ci 2.8L V6, power windows, AC, AM/FM casette stereo. Stock rims, similar to those on the 1986 Chevrolet Camaro Sprot Coupe. It was just the right size for me, as I was a high school student at the time. It was pretty decent on gas mileage, and was good for extended driving. The paint was not of the best quality as GM had some poor results with their auto paints in the 1980's. Most likely due to tha age, the transmission had to be rebuilt in 1999. Car stayed in good running condition until it was totaled in a wreck (I was not driving the car at the time). I still have many good memories of the car. I wish I had a picture of the car, but alas, I do not know where any are at this present time.May 20, 2010
