its old like me but will come out of hibernation soon! It has been in my possession since I was 23 and is more like a child of mine than a car of mine. I have sweated blood and tears on this car and it has taken more of my time than anything other than my business. I will look like an old idiot when I drive it but I dont care at all, it handles and goes like nothing produced in that sector for the last 20 years! Mar 19, 2010

Mechanically it was reliable, except the hand brake cable which once or twice froze in the cold Finnish winters. It also didn't rust much, which for a French car in the tough Finnish climate was very good. However, the interior build quality was not very good, and by the time it was 10 years old several bits of plastic were falling off inside.Jun 01, 2009

Simply the best.. the 309 is a god car overall..The photo shows the car as it was when I first bought. It was a nice looking car in good condition, and the Volvo reliability reputation was a clincher for the sale. la la la la la la la laOct 31, 2008

No looker and bits fell off but in the three years I owned it I loved its performance, handling, practicality and running costs. given that it was a minger nobody ever looked at it twice and I could leave it anywhere. The nearest thing I can think of available today would probably be a skodaOct 25, 2008

my car is very fast, for its age once its in 5th gear takes about 10 minutes to get it into 5th,it rattles but if you turn the radio up you cant hear it,ive spent 300 eros in a year not bad it sailed through its mot,i clean the inside and outside once a month its a gleaming red, very cheap to run its petrol and petrol in spain at the moment is cheaper than diesel,we use my car more than manuels because he loves to drive it cause its faster than his fiesta dieselSep 03, 2008
