Great car for learners or P-platers, a quick little car (for those who can drive it properly). the 1.8l (18LE) engine is virtually bullet proof, i had problems with small things like clutch cable and engine mount bolts (easily fixed). the stock interior is quite comfortable, finding one with the roof lining intact is difficult. If you put bigger wheels on it (i had 15"x 195), the handling is quite good. parts are easy to find and maintenance is easy. aftermarket parts are hard to find though. the FWD layout makes it a nippy car to attack corners with.Apr 08, 2012

1.6L TBI very good on gas. Snappy acceleration. Handles well in turns, ez to park.GREAT winter car- BIG heat, sure footed with snow tires. Manual is a plus in winter. T tops are fun- give sporty appearance- but tend to leak if gaskets arent maintained properly.Aug 01, 2011

Performance: Felt faster than it probably was. But it still could be quick if you floored it. Build Quality: After 21 years on the road, it still did not have one squeak or rattle in the cabin. However, the paint had faded terribly, some rust has appeared, and it has a small variety of minor and major mechanical problems. It is a tough car, just a little unreliable Appearance: Despite dire paint fade, rust, and wear, it was quite attractive (for its time) inside and out. It could have been much better now if it had been kept properly Cost of ownership: Poor. Heavy fuel consumption for a car of its size (12l/100km is routine if in traffic or driven quickly, and never less than 10l/100 even if driven ultra-carefully) and costs of frequent repairs (A$1,000 in one year). Fun factor: Fast, responsive, and has good handling. Always a pleasure to drive. Oct 08, 2009
