I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a great ride. Fast, furious and fun. Great to look at and to drive. accellerates smoothly, cruises nicely at 80 mph, seems to hunker down, grip the road and go. Good brakes, relatixely quiet cabin, nice ride.Feb 09, 2012

Like almost everything and dislike almost nothing! Could use a little more hp and front bucket seat is a little uncomfortable and a little hard to get out of. But the 'bird looks and sounds great! The car runs really well and accellerates nicely and brakes very well. The car is a riot to drive and its size makes one feel secure but the t-tops cause some vision problems as they reflect off the mirrors. Cverall, however, this is a fine ride, well manufactured and fun to drive. I am proud to own this vehicle.Jan 02, 2012

performance wise its under powered only 150? hp stock brakes great no abs handles extremely well
build quality for being 25 years old it needs relativly little work mostly little stuff
apperance wise they dont make them like they use to i love the lines of this car
good gas millage what can you excpect from a car of this age parts are cheap

v8, 305 ....first car, had alot of fun cruising in this and racing people when i was 17 lol, comfortable, good looking car, performance was ok..needed some upgrades but it was good enuf for what we needed it forOct 20, 2011

Not my first car nor my first American car, but my first Arican muscle. When I got this bauty bird it was - awfull, if not to say more. Then 2,5 years hard work in garage after university and last summer 10'000 km over Baltic states and meetings. That was SUPERB!!!! this cars preformance is amazing compared to when i first bought it the engine was missing a lot of parts in which the engine isn,t even for this car its older 5.0 rebuilt a lot of the cars fuel lines, its struts, and diffrent parts of the engine. the body is in good shape there isn't much rust at all, the drivers side t-top leaks a little but thats hard to prevent on old cars. the hood is pretty messed up because of the sand dammage and salt damage from the coast of california. it gets bout 25 mpg on highway and about 15 city. this car is super fun especially on a dirt road.Jun 09, 2010

It needs a paint job, new interior the engine has almost no problems just things that need to be checked out or adjusted my rims also need to be sanded and polished but I do have some great tires this car is a work in progressOct 25, 2009

The performance isnt good cause its got a v6. I would rather that it had a v8, and a roll cage so that the frame wouldnt bend, but im gonna be putting all that in. I want to pull the whole interior out and redo all the interior, fix up rust and stuff like that and then paint the interior with rhino bed liner paint. I just really like the idea of having a firebird and am looking forward to working on it.Oct 07, 2009

I have owned four firebirds and ill one one till the day i die. There is nothing like the feeling of cruising down the highway in one with the t tops off and the stereo cranked. If youve never drivin one get on it!!Jul 16, 2009

I can not say one bad thing about this car. I also know that none of my friends can say anything bad about it either. The car whas fast, quick off the line, and handle better than anything else on the road. I recommend anyone that has a chance buy one. 1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350Sep 04, 2008

This is my 1987 Firebird Formula. It's got a 305 HO V8 5.0 liter Carborated engine. 205 HP with the headers, top speed 140mph. Haven't tested the acceleration yet, but it certainly likes to take off... it's got a posi rear-end but i don't know the gear ratio...

I bought the car cheap because it needed transmission work, or so I thought. I replaced the transmission (not recommended since these cars have absolutely no room to work on them) and the issue was still there so I go rid of the car.Jan 11, 2008
