My Uncle Craig (Robyn's dad) bought this as a family vehicle in 1989 at a dealership in Monterey, CA. It was an absolutely no-frills vehicle, with no A/C or power options, but A/C was rarely needed in Northern California. My uncle put an upgraded Blaupunkt sound system in it and that was about it. It had a slightly underpowered, but bulletproof 4-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, and combined with the 4-wheel drive, this SUV could go anywhere. It took the Collord family on many a ski trip, and I rode in it many times too. I loved that truck! Over the 15 or so years my aunt and ucnle owned it, it never gave them any major problems. The transmission had to be replaced once, it eventually started to rust, and towards the end, the 4-wheel drive quit working. My Uncle sold it to some Mexican guy who is currently using it as a work truck.Aug 24, 2008
