Not sure yet - I'll elaborate after the engine rebuild. Just buying this with an engine that needs a rebuild. Looking for more power options on the 2.6L engine - hoping for a little more power from what I'm reading in reviews.Mar 31, 2015

overall I just love the style, great looking truck and will be very capeable off road with a body lift, 32s, and some frame work. I got this truck for very little money so i can justify putting some into it.
very excited new owner of a beat up dodge raider.Nov 20, 2011

Purchased this guy from a guy who had it sitting since he bought it off an older couple almost two years ago. Pretty sure they were the original owners and used it mainly as a tow-behind vehicle for their RV. It's the 2.6L I4 with manual transmission.
Did a compressed-air wash of the body, removed all surface rust, used POR-15 (INCREDIBLE stuff) on the little body rust that we found, sealed and protected the underbody, re-packed bearings, changed out all fluids, installed new plugs and wiring, power-flushed the block, purchased/installed a rebuilt carburetor (lifetime warranty from importcarburetors.com), installed KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, re-painted bumpers, rocker panels, wheels and hood.
Interior work has been minimal up to this point but will update as completed.Oct 17, 2010

We really enjoyed our Raider, but had to give it up when our son came along. Not very easy to put a child in a car seat in the rear. Gas mileage was good for a 4wd, handling was good, service was good, would have kept it longer but family comes first.Jul 04, 2010

I loved this truck. Made of steel. But, brakes went to hell after having it for like a
month or two. Almost crashed in it a few times. Was hella fun to drive with the
windows rolled down and my regular ass boombox blaring music for me.
Appearance was crappy but, kind of big. Maintenance, for what? It was a beater
truck till I got my Toyota. Jun 10, 2010

i got a 1987 dodge raider silver. (no pics) it is a 3L with about 200 horses under the hood. i find that the acceleration is very good in mine. it is extremely fun to drive on or off road. it is one of the very few 4x4s i know of that will leave a 25ft long strip of burnt rubber on the ashphalt when it is 4 wheel drive!!! i think that the braking could be better but it is satisfactional. the handling is great i find. (if you want it to be!) it has NEVER squeaked or rattled and the only repair it has needed is for the exaust to be welded back on after my friend took it off a jump without my permission. i actually find that it is a very appealing car on the out side and inside. i find the gas mileage pretty good 500km to the tank. maintenance is very low in cost. i love all the little gadgets and buttons on the inside. its almost a luxury car! overall i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
oh yeah! i almost forgot! i pulled a great big 2500 gmc sierra 4x4 out of a bog with it. that just prove that they are small but very mighty!!!Aug 30, 2009
