The AMC Eagle is very versatile and suits my needs well.
With four wheel drive that can be switched on and off and
can be run even on dry pavement, the Eagle is one of the
best cars ever made for driving in snow. So well, that the
National Ski Patrol used them for 5 out of their 8
production years. All version are very practical, especially
the wagon. I have hauled many things in this car at once
and still had room for stuff. Probably my toughest haul
was when I hauled a Tuba, Bari Sax, Two trumpets, four
large band uniforms, plus four friends in the band in about
4 inches of snow. Very fun ride and there was room for
everyone and their equipment. The Eagle is very
underpowered though, only a 258c.i. straight six to power
the beast that weights about 3500lbs, so its not the best
car to impress friends with the acceleration. But the Eagle
does what it was designed for and does it very well, which
is go in adverse weather conditions. Jun 30, 2009
