1985 Toyota Pickup Reviews, Pricing & Specs

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 1985 Toyota Pickup appreciate its reliability, off-road capability, and the fun factor it brings. Many highlighted the toughness and sturdiness of the truck, especially in challenging terrains. However, some drivers did mention issues like rust and slow acceleration as drawbacks. Despite its age, Many feel this truck is a solid investment."
as it is it (stock) will out wheel a built jeep, great on mileage, not pretty but who cares about looks any way, they are relativley cheap, they come with a solid front axle, 4:11 gearing, they are like tanks when it comes to snow wheeling it will go any where especially if it has tire chains,
November 23, 2009it is very fun little truck on and off road, mine has a 350 chev motor and a 8 inch lift, so it makes it more fun off road, the truck has lasted well in the wisconsin weather so im not complaining
June 26, 2009Obviously mine is not exactly stock, but the original 22re has almost 250,000 very hard miles on it and still it runs great. Without re gearing and 37" tires I can still cruise at 70. I would recommend this vehicle over a Jeep for offroading any day of the week. Even with 33s and a rear locker only, it still went tons of places I didn't expect it to.

August 18, 20101985 toyota 22r engine its got over 280 thousand miles on it ad still runs amazing. Good reliable truck, goes anywhere that i take it.
April 2, 2008BULLIETPROOF all i have to say. good on gas for a old truck. timing chain drive is a huge plus. body will rust out before you kill these little gems fun factor... drive one and you will see.. well worth the money
April 9, 2010My 2nd truck, first foreign vehicle. But it has an american heart- a chevy 350. Best v8 ever made by GM. This truck can sit and roast the 33 inch mudders all day. Its a beast in the mud and a babe magnet-haha. Body has been restored, and no rust on it. The 350 is backed by a 350 turbo tranny. Dual pipes give a roar, and doesnt let the onlookers be fooled whats under the hood. My trucks my girlfriend pretty much.
November 7, 2009Good truck. A bolt holding the bearings tight came loose in the engine and cracked the block. Had to sell it.
July 8, 2008handles good, slow acceleration, built very strong, tailgate rattles after awhile, they all start to rust out at the seams on the side of the bed. Maintenance is not too bad if you know how to do the work yourself, some parts sre hard to find, but most are available from your local parts store. Fun to drive if set up right.
September 12, 2009Piece Truck to those who knew it, cut down in her prime.
March 31, 2008Its was rolled, sat for 4 years, givin' to me, and now on its way to be rescued and run again! Oh and with a lift and bigger tires. :)
