My father bought a Lancer ES Turbo when they were new. It was fast, looked good, and had comfortable front seats. It was also the car that sent us off to import land. The head gasket went at 17K miles. The second one went at 24K miles. After that, who knows, as the digital instrument packed up shortly afterwards. My mother bought a new Porsche in 1986, which made other faults apparent. Faults like the body panels and interior pieces not fitting together well. The center caps on the alloy wheels went missing frequently, something that applied to all other Chrysler products with the wheel option we selected.
