The Mazda RX-7 is a very unique car with a rotary engine instead of a cylinder based engine, while being very light, it is still very fast, although it doesn’t generate very much horsepower. Dec 02, 2020

The car has amazing handling, stopping, and acceleration. the only problems are lack of space and not the best on gas. Will definitely drift for you when you want, and will get out of its own way. All in all, fantastic car Jun 18, 2014

At the time I was attending college, and this was the sportiest car I could afford. It was complete, however the engine was kaput. Sooo, the garage that sold me the car was able to track down and install another 13A (carbureted) engine. It was always a real bear to try to start, particularly when the engine was cold. Choke or no choke, it always just seemed to crank and crank before it caught. The car had a sporty look, but the average minivan could easily blow its doors off, even with the 5 speed transmission. this 1984 Mazda RX-7 is a nice peice of work. This car has a nice body work on it. It has amazing speed and acceleration. The older Mazda's are a better lookin car in my opinion. I would love to have this car.Sep 26, 2010

This is my 84 RX-7, it's got a 1.1L rotary engine with pretty good acceleration for only having a hundred BHP when it was new, it's got crazy good turn in and can take a corner quickly without under or oversteer. The braking is a little spongey. As for appearance it could use a new paintjob and a little body work on the body kit. The interior could use a little work. It's fun to drive and is a good solid car.Sep 12, 2010

my first car, i learned to drive manual in it. i loved it so much i just had to get another one ! rotary export sleek. looks like a big gokart thats my opinion i jus love it. its definately a classic!Aug 16, 2010

the performance all together on this car is great still with the stock 13b rotory motor it rips in a stright line and in the corners it can only get better the only time i ever herd the tires chirp on this car is when my dad was getting off the highway and he didnt realize it was a sharp exit the braking is just as anyother carit is build great accept the transmission...rebuilt 3 times...and we are having a problem with the rear axel we think it is just a berring but there is a sqeeling coming from the back we have the alll leather inteirior its great it hugs you in the corners, the gas milage isnt great but its not an every day car THE BEST CAR IVE EVER BEEN INJun 08, 2010

It's rotary first of all. 1.1L engine putting out 100HP on a car that weighs 2200 lbs. It has tons of room for upgrades and a bigger rotary. This car is insanely fun to drive, especially because of how it tries to drift on straightaways (with no power steering!).Jun 07, 2010

I like being diferent and the RX7 lets me do that with its rotary engine. But it does have some drawbacks, it guzzles gas, its old so parts are breaking, cops love to follow me =). Handles smooth, responsive throttle, and its a wankel!Apr 30, 2010

12a bridge port with: notched housings new seals & gaskets etc. Fd C - ring Direct fire ignition Holley 600 Holley red fuel pump Holley fuel reg. RB Intake manifold RB headers Magnaflow Exhaust Glowshift Gauges E-Fan Steel Braided oil lines LSD rear end Lowered on suspension technique springs all bushings are energy suspensions wheels are wedsports wrapped in 205/65/14s being painted as we speak gloss black adding new XTD stage 3 clutch kit next week redoing the rear brake setup week after that. The Gas mileage is anywhere from 10-14 on a good day with premixing the fuel. I'm shooting for 250 whp atleast Feb 12, 2010

Fun and a great classic. The Rotary is my favorite part of the car. No power steering so thats kind of fun. I love to drift. Very old but very fun if you have money to spend. I love this car.Dec 05, 2009

I only put terrible performance cause the thing is still sitting down in my garage, which is how it's been for the past 7 or 8 years. I can't wait to drive it for the first time, cause I know I'm gonna destroy the clutch i just bought for it in the first week I'm driving... and of course get some speeding tickets ;]Oct 24, 2009

it's perfectly balanced and high strung ... It's a Wankel Engine, as long as you keep it lubed it will stay running. Don't baby the motor and she will continue running for a very very long time. I still love mine.Oct 05, 2009

Bought this car when i was in HS. Restored it with my uncle. Great car but expensive! Anytime you needed a part it costed double or triple normal parts cost. Some parts were super hard to find as well due to the somewhat rarity of these cars. Loved driving it! Lots of fun and lookd awesome!!! A great hobby car but not a daily driver!!!Jan 28, 2009

For current standards the 100 hp 12a rotary just doesnt cut it, too slow in every aspect besides launch and shift surge which both are due to it being rear wheel drive, the rotary engines are riddled with problems and u need to learn almost a new language to coherently work on one, the car exterior is beautiful and yet aggressive when done right the interior is very well loaded with ac, power everything sunroof and all the perks, even cruise control in an 84 manual trans! the gas millage sucks as for all rotaries but stock its not to bad, the car is very fun to drive the rear wheel drive in snow makes it unbelievable fun to drift. I would recommend it to a friend if it was in good condition because fixing this motor is different from all others often taking $200 an hour for a rotary specialist to fix.Jan 22, 2009

First Generation Mazda RX7 GSL-SE aka first gen...first of its gen to have 13B rotary engine. My first car i got when i was 15.....my mom thought it was a porch with the flip up headlights.. i learned alot about the rotarty engine and loved racing around in the 2 seater stick....Jan 05, 2009

This was the second of the two 1984 RX-7s that I owned. The engine was blown when I bought it, but I was already planning on replacing it with the engine from my wrecked RX-7. This one suffered the same fate as my first one. Wrecked.Dec 22, 2008

What a fun car, my first car and probably one that I'll end up buying again to have as a project. Performance is top notch with very close to 50/50 distribution if you tweak with aftermarket struts. The rotary can spin to 8k and they only warn you there because it's OEM. Watch for carbon lock on those 13a/b's and it's a blast to drive.Dec 20, 2008

its a 12 a turbo with a s4 5 speed. it runs 11psi at the moment wanting alot more. should be around 220hp at the wheels :)) wat else do you want me to say its a rotary. good for 240km/h and its just alot of fun to drive m Aug 02, 2008

The First Car that I fell in love with. The first time that I rode it that car I was 8 yrs old and ever since that day it was dream to own that car. Now I do. Though since it is an old vehicle, there are a lot of repairs that had to be made; an on going process.Jul 29, 2008

this car was a blast for the 2 months that I had it, handled like it was on rails, or at least most of the time it did, it was extremely fickle and subsequently ended up in a jersey wall at low speed, totaling it.Nov 08, 2007
