Excellent, reliable car that gave no real trouble.
Mainly driven by my wife for shopping and to her job at a charity shop.
Very easy to maintain but spare parts are not easy to obtain so I think it is time to
consider a modern car.Aug 19, 2011

Bought this bad boy for £150 to autotest and for production car trialling.
Drove it home thinking that the brakes were rubbish, it just turned out that the speedo underestimated by quite a margin and I wasn't doing 40 after all! First event ( a classic trial) managed to flatten all the fuel pipes and kill the ECU. Off to the scrap yard then...Nov 20, 2010

performance - there isnt much of this but still enough to have a good time!!
build quality - its 25 years old and still on the road, its abit rusty tho!
appearance - gorgeous!!
cost of ownership - small engine = cheap to run!
fun factor - i love it, if its lowered its like a go cart!!!Feb 24, 2009

The original Ford Fiesta is one of my favourite cars. It was my first car and was an excellent training ground. It had just enough power from the 950c ohv engine and only the basic essentials inside. Handling was exellent, and I even treated my 950 Popular with a brand new 'XR2' sports gear knob from Trimoco Hertford. I was very proud.Nov 01, 2008

It was an L, had an AM radio and one speaker. Four speed gearbox, no synchromesh on First or Reverse (or any other gear come to think about it). Was fairly nippy. Adequate boot space, tyres were cheap to buy, did about 38 miles per UK gallon. Bonnet was held down with quick release rubber thingys.Aug 12, 2008

Fairly quick but its only a 1.1 on carbs
Good quality built for its age, it is 25 years old you know!
It's just a good 70's Old school ford
Cheap insurance and fairly ok on fuel, could be better
Nothing better that chucking it into corners like a rally star in the forest!Jul 04, 2008
