Another car inherited from my grandpa. Pretty solid car, station wagon could haul a lot of beer to those high school parties. This one had gone in service for Volvo BM, and had extra load capacity with special springs. 5 people + 8 cases of beer. Not aproblem.
Apperance - it's a Volvo 240 station wagon! Does it really need more description?Apr 08, 2009

These cars perform well in every area but speed. We've had ours for 26 years and then some, and it still runs great. About five years ago, we towed about a ton of jagged metal junk up from Wake Forest to Boone at a steady speed without any wrinkles. It has a lot of torque for a car that old, just not the pickup of a Lamborghini.
Engine - B23 (inline 4): Torquey, but not speedy.
Suspension: Nice balance between living room ride and road racer performance.
Transmission: 3 speed automatic, thrashes a bit up hills.
Comfort: Very comfy unless you need lower back support.
Carrying capacity: Limitless (greater than the old Chevy Caprice over two times as big, if that's any indication!)
Looks: The best-styled 240 series. 70's had an ugly wedged nose, while later models seemed to get even more brick-ish.Apr 04, 2008
