My vehicle hade a powerful yet simple engine, simple seats, the
headlights was not very effective, the brakes was good, the gear box
was most inviting. It needed alot of body work thou. I like the design
cause it favored a muscle (classic). Its stood proud on the road when
you look at it. The dash board was upgradable, wide tires, big trunk,
hard car, the back seat was very comfortable thou. Side mirrors were
kind of boring. But I really like the car. I still have dimensions on a CD
to customize the body, WOW, that was so long ago Aug 23, 2012

Retro style,165 tyres great fun in the rain. Every one ripped me for owning it but I loved it even more for that. It started life as my gramps 1.6 crusader YFR488Y if any one knows were she is now I would love to buy her back!Mar 21, 2009

I have to say, I'm proud to be old enough to have owned a Ford Cortina. In their day, there was nothing to touch them. Bullet proof in every way. My 1.3 Crusader could have done with morepower, but it did the job! Crusader specification gave 'Ghia' type wood cappings to the doors and special 'Pin striping' to the bodywork.Nov 01, 2008

it handles well for its and the price i bought it for...$250 with new tires and extracted...manifold rusted off...and it just keeps going...revs high and the engine responds well to that.
repairs: gearbox...the ball went in it...the rear drum brake was seized...alternator...seat belt...
performance...still does 0 - 100km/h in 6.5 seconds 2L 4 speed manual

It's a real 80's icon complete with 2.3 V6 guzzler
engine, Ghia trim, and black vinyl roof. Perfect for
playing Howard Jones cassettes in (yes it has a
cassette player). The comfiest seats I've ever sat in.
Handles like a blancmange! This ain't no rocket-
ship. You really need to keep on top of the
bodywork on these old girls as they rot like dead
wood. If you can, check the VIN plate. If it has
german writing, then you're onto a winner (they
used better steel than the UK versions). You won't
pull no birds with this thing though, and be
prepared for loads of dreamers offering to buy it
and never doing anything.......... Sep 05, 2008
