I bought this truck new in 1978 and it's on it's second engine, mileage about 280,000, second transmission and third transfer case. It goes through U~Joints, (it has six of them) more often than I think it should. It came from factory with a 2bbl and at the time Warranties were only 12,000 miles or 12 months. So after warranty ran out I put an Edelbrock intake and a Holley 600cfm and gave me noticeable more HPApr 26, 2013

love everything about it..its been a great truck and a fun one to restore. ford nailed it when they built this style of truck when it comes to body lines, the truck looks, how it rides for being a 3/4 ton and the performance...nothing i dont love about itFeb 18, 2010

One of the most reliable trucks I've ever had, all
The original equipment still works from factory. A/C, radio, speedo and gauges, lights. Not a luxury vehicle but a good dependable work horse. Wouldn't ever trade for any other work truck.Nov 19, 2008

Been Around for 30 years. Dad bought it new in 78. Has a built 460 w/ C-6. Dana 60's F/R 4:10 Gears. Done everything you could think of and some you cant. Old Fords are the best Run Forever. Best Manufacturer. Fords forever. First On Race Day.Oct 28, 2008

I absolutely love this truck. I thought it looks like a redneck truck....well it does....but I love it anyway. The truck has a ton of power, and with no cats or mufflers...the truck sounds awesomeApr 29, 2008
