So... this was my first car that I was 'given' when I got my license... it had been parked in a garage for about 8 years and hadn't been run at all during that time... my parents said "If you can get that thing to run, its yours!" Well, I went out, swapped batteries and it started right up!! This was a great car for a first car - since it was an 'econobox' from the late 70s, I didn't put much into it - be it repairs or gas!! The thing was doign like 40 MPG and at the time I was driving about 150 miles a week, so I'd fill up once a month... it was definitely a no frills car... crank windows, no A/C and small enough that at 6'1" I could have probably ripped out the front seat and drove from the back! But I loved this thing... it was basic enough that someone looking to get a car they could tinker with and learn, it was perfect for that...Mar 05, 2014

My 1978 Datun blue bomb was a serious p.o.s. However, it started every time and got me where I needed to loaded with genuine vinyl seats and a radio that worked (when you knocked hard on the dashboard hard enough). Jan 04, 2009

This was my 1st car - It used to be a company car driven by a guy who soked filterless cigaretts. Took me a good week of exstensive cleaning (inside) to get all the tar off of the interior. The car would only get to 60 downhill but it got me thru 4 years of high school. :)Oct 11, 2008
